I would love to meet up! I think there are a bunch of us New Englanders planning on having a trip in the July/August time frame, so maybe you could come down for that! If not, I'm planning on taking her to Prince Edward Island the first week of August for a wedding - maybe we could meet up then! Cheers, Zeke |

I will take ED of my LBB 6MT M2 at 3:00 pm on June 29, 2016. Until then I will continue my love affair with my VO 1M, S1000RR and taking a degree in German at University! |

It is funny that it appears that after 51 it doesn't matter, guess anyone over that age is all the same "old". Looks like I have about 9 months before I am irrelevant

I'm 45 (about a week away from 46) but I prefer to think of it as 25 and 40 halves.
No one will think the car is a midlife crisis (bonus, at this age I don't care anyway!) because I've driven fast cars for the last several years-- the Jeep I drive right now is the first 4-door I've ever owned. Of course, I get accused of being in a midlife crisis because my wife is 17 years younger than I am, and we have a 12 month old baby. A friend of mine said hey, do you realize you'll be over 60 when your baby graduates high school? And I said yeah, but I'd be over 60 anyway. Life is good. At a recent job interview: Interviewer: What would you say your greatest weakness is? Me: Honesty. Interviewer: Well I don't really think that's a weakness. Me: I don't give a sh!t what you think.

I also have production confirmation for week June 24 for my June 29 ED referred to in post above. I too question the statement "No cars will be produced in June" that several members have repeated.

Love Germans car, particularly BMW for the sporty feel and design. |

I have been fortunate enough to get a well paying job for my age. 2nd BMW now and I am building a house now. My first house I bought when I was 22. I make more money than my parents combined and help them out, not the other way around. Some might have parents that have them buy them cars, no matter the make. I had to earn it myself all my life. I just got an early start I guess compared to others.

More like 2k is realistic. Unfortunately, my parents were unable to help me at the time, so I was on my own. I think one would be plenty, to allow someone to get a job and earn the rest from there. Anything beyond that, they will expect hand outs the rest of their lives and not achieve anything themselves. For some, that does not matter. I wish haha

Is your production week 24 or did you calculate for June 24th? I would be shocked if your car was to be produced a mere 5 days before expected delivery, since it will take that long for BMW to pack it on a truck and PDI it for Welt delivery. Week 24 would actually be a May production, starts next week.

Late 2014 #1 on my dealer's list who wouldn't take a deposit at that time. Sept 2015 dealer accepted $1,000 deposit. Mid-February 2016 BMW AG accepted my ED order with requested pickup time of 9:00 am June 30. Early March BMW AG requested alternative ED times in case specific request could not be met. End March BMW AG advised Production week June 24 confirmed but closest ED pick up time would be 3:00 pm on June 29. (Note: not a week No.) It takes a couple of hours max. to PDI a car and Leipzig to Munich is a 4 hour drive. It makes zero business sense for BMW to produce a car 4 or 5 months in advance of the day a client will pick up/pay for it, ergo they ideal business case is to minimize the time between finished product and delivery. Looks like they have it pretty damn close in my case! |

I'm 39, will be 40 in October. Don't care much for people with rich parents buying them stuff.
If you can afford one at 20 yo you either have rich parents or are a criminal. ;-) |
