I mean, isn't the entire point of this thread supposed to be about expressing any perceived negatives?
Yet, when one posts a negative, people chime in telling them to get out of the forum. You can't make this shit up. Some of you guys need your heads examined.

I was concerned about this but to be honest I have to seriously struggle to notice it and sometimes I am not even sure if it's real exhaust or not. It absolutely doesn't bother me at all, and I have pretty good ears. Not a single person I have given a ride to has noticed it.

I don't think active sound is that intrusive in this car but it's definitely there. |

Collected my car yesterday.
The missing of an adequate oil temp gauge is bad, the digital read out is not what you want in an M car IMO The car is far more silent than my previous 1M, a little tire noise, but engine wise silence all over, until you push it off course (Sports +) The clutch is the same clutch as used in all 1 and 2 series, its (too)light, and lacks some feel IMO, far more lighter than my E46 M3 witch had a rather ferm clutch, and needed some time to adjust to. The gear change however is short and very very smooth, no rubbery feel what so ever, this is by far the best I have ever driven in a BMW The auto rev matching when going down on gears is somewhat awkward, the is no engine braking left. Mirrors and dash have been exlusively discussed here, but I do agree with major comments here on Bimmerpost Steering feels fine and direct, car feels nimble, but not as the 1M, brakes are awesome. |

Nope, it switches to S mode. I have to manually tap the lever again to go back to D.

Not sure why there's a difference. If I'm in comfort mode and use my paddles, it doesn't go to sport ever.

Possibly not enough raindrops on the sensor. If the rain is very light, I sometimes need to push the stalk down against pressure just for one swipe. Maybe you service advisor can check it.

Maybe it is the character of this engine, but normally if you are going down one or more gears than the engine helps to slow down the car, I do call that engine braking ( I do not know if this is correct English) But the M2 does not brake wel on engine IMHO. I hope I did explain it suffciantly. |

Some will see my next point as positive, some as negative
This engine feels so lineair compared to the N54 1M, I mean, when is the turbo kicking in? Is WOT the thing the way to kick your behind? Of course I could no do that due to low milage I wanted to, but I could resist, but the force was strong |
