And who knows if that even means NA will get them to have us lose any value. Which we probably won't since the car is so rare.

With the M4 GTS, about 50% of the cars were sold to people who were determined eligible by BMW. The rest were sold by dealers to customers of their choice. I don't think the M2 CS/CSL would be as limited nor as hardcore as the M4 GTS since the M4 GTS was part of their centenary celebration and BMW will always try to keep the 4>2. The M3/M4 has been the flagship M model for BMW and the demand for M3/M4s and their variants will most definitely always be greater than that for the M2 and it's variants.
Looking at the current M2, it looks like BMW did not intentionally put in the M-mirrors, CF roof, hood scoop, programmable driving modes (2 buttons on the steering wheel) etc. with the CS/CSL in mind. All I really expect them to do is bump up the power a little bit (20-25 BHP), put in the CF bits, some other tweaks and call it the CS/CSL. I also think that they could put in the B58 in the new car as a marketing tactic. It'll get the best publicity when all the reviewers rave about the new car and it's phenomenal engine. |

Looks pretty good to me. Missing the carbon roof but has the ducktail boot, Carbon ceramics, updated M3 CSL style wheels and a nice wide body. M2 CSL anyone? Not a fan of the rear lights though, they remind me of a Vauxhall Calibra. |

It looks great as it is except the rear. They need to fix the rear lights which just does not look right, make the front a little less extreme, put in the carbon fibre roof, and tweak the sides a little bit.
Then add 30-40 hp more, subtract 200 lb and we'll have something very special. |

Page 64 of the M2 Technical Training (that you can find in the manuals sticky) shows an M2 instrument cluster featuring 8500 RPM (Comment: "Speed and engine speed display correspond to the drive concept (300 km/h in 30 km scale divisions, 8,000 rpm)."). On page 61 of that document the M2 instrument cluster is shown that we know.
No idea how that alternative instrument cluster ended up in the base M2 Technical Training. Food for speculation. By the way, this was also pointed out in the "BMW M2 Technical Training document: answers to many questions" thread (Feb 8, 2016). Unfortunately, that thread has mysteriously vanished from the M2 forum. Too bad, because it contained some interesting discussions. How it's shown (8.5K RPM + "T/min x 1000" indication + different fuel gauge division): How it is (7.5K RPM) (no picture of my car):
