Has your launch control issue been resolved?

To activate launch control you need to hold the DSC button down for approx 5 secs. until it comes up on your nav screen as DSC off

Sport + in maunal mode

Throttle then needs to be punched hard down, not progressive. Car needs to be warm also

Enjoy

Kind of. It will activate now but it won't let me rev over 2k. I'm going to test it again this weekend when I have time to make sure I've warmed it up enough etc.

Does the car limit the number of consecutive launches it will let you do?

All I read is that there is a time or distance limit of some kind between it allowing launches, like the engine temperature limitation preventing launches before it's warm enough.

Have you felt any difference in the engine performance otherwise, like overboost is working now also? Others have commented on a more lively engine after the 1200 mi service.

I have almost 2000 miles now and I'd say about 1800 of those were rolling in traffic. lol. Maybe I'm losing it but I think the car also sounds a little louder now. As far as overboost, I really haven't pushed it. One time, it did startle me because I wasn't expecting that extra push.

I think it takes a few parameters into account before you can do consecutive launches, transmission temps is the major one.

Agree with you on the loudness. Seems as though the exhaust is burning in a bit. Not sure if that is a real phenomena or not. If so mine should burn in nicely tomorrow as it is initiation for my M at the track.

So you say it's not as 'slow' as you initially thought it was breaking it in?
Yours is a DCT?

Cheers

Breaking in was torture.

The car is definitely quick but it also requires work to drive fast in the sense that you really need to get into it to fully enjoy it...opposed to car that's simply "gas and gooooo". Mine is DCT.

I'm still having launch control issues. I tested again today. It will activate but once I let off the brake, the rpms drop off even with the gas pedal fully depressed.

Have you adjusted the launch control revs via the steering wheel like the guy in this video? Might give you some idea at around 03:50 in.

No I haven't. What's the default setting? Mine activates and when I release the brake, it doesn't shift and stays at redline in first gear til I shift myself. I won't reactivate again after one attempt.

The Launch Control indication below the tach should be on by the time you step on the brake and before you floor the accelerator. The videos show this and the tach going to ~ 3000 - 3500 before adjusting.

If this was happening to me, I would probably take the car in, get a service technician to ride with me, and show them what's occurring. You're correct that not shifting automatically with Launch Control active is not the expected behavior.

No. It should shift the first few gears before you have to.

Are you pressing the accelerator pedal all the way down, past the resistance point?

Apparently I thought I was but not enough. Someone else did manage to launch the car though.
