Escort 9500ix issues

I'm trying to narrow down an issue with my 9500ix in my M2. I've never had issues before but on this car it seems to throw laser detection if the unit is close to the windshield. If the receiver of the detector is pointing literally anywhere else, or is moved further away from the windshield, it seems to work fine.

There are some suggestions that it's the LED headlight sensor.

Anyone else have this problem?

No issues and been running it for about a year now.

You have a pic of where you are placing it?

Yes as I said if I move it further away, it doesn't throw the error. Do you have adaptive LED headlights? Thinking the light detection module could be the issue.

Is that a blendmount?

ID6 Touchscreen Proximity Sensors will cause false laser targets.

I have the executive package, its not a blendmount. Found another mount recommended by a fellow M2 owner off eBay for a fifth of the price.

Care to share?

The blendmount pricing is out of control.

I too have this issue with my STi Magnum. I've tried to move it closer to the windshield, up towards the mirror more, still without luck. I'll try to move it away towards the center of the car to see if that works. I ended up turning off laser because if you're hit, you're screwed anyway.

I believe this is an LCI issue. Here’s the V1 thread with same issues: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1423358

I use a V1, but have had laser disabled for years. If you get hit, you’re toast anyways. Gotta jam Laser.

Like I said it's basically all readings being thrown off. Talking to Beltronics they tell me it's because it uses an analog signal processor. The newest models use digital. They didn't clarify which ones those were.

Yes sir, just installed my not to old V1 in the LCI M2 and it sits in alert mode nonstop. Have it mounted to a blend mount and wiretap. Same set up from the '15 M4 with not issues but now it is unusable....

I use my 9500ix with a blendmount with no problems. I don't have led or automatic high beams. Don't know if that matters.

I do believe it is related to the adaptive LED

That's too bad. I think the led headlights are awesome. I had them on a BMW I rented in Germany a couple of years ago and they were great.

I don't know if a newer model like the Max 360 would make a difference. Maybe someone here has one and can give some input.

Yes they have confirmed to me that any of the DSP devices will work. So x70 and up.

I found this thread while searching for the same issue. 9500ix with my 19 M5 competition was throwing the laser signal the instant it turned on.

My car has the new 'gesture' control, which has an optical sensor path immediately below the mirror where I mount mine.

I turned the gestures off in iDrive and it still goes off. Maybe its the Adaptive LEDs?
