KW V3 Clubsport vs M Performance Coilovers

Is there a big difference between the two in terms of how low the coilovers can go and performance?

If you want a lot of adjustability, go with KW. If you plan on tracking your car a lot, go with KW.

If you're just looking for something fun and cool for the streets, shit... go with KW anyway.

I should preference... I have the m perf coils and they are sorta lame. The spring diameter is so retarded big in the front that the required neg camber for track duty is unachievable because the damn spring hits the inside of the wheel well, stupid.

The ride height setting sucks. Running 18" track wheels, trust me you want to go lower but you can't unless you forego the rear spring adjuster perch then, wtf is the point?

OK I guess the answer is KW. Thanks

+1 on the ohlins. Right up there with motons. Depends on your use case if you plan on tracking a lot I would consider ohlins or motons (not sure they make for m2). KW would be more than adequate for track as well but I think more geared towards street usage. Can't go wrong either way. I'm just not a fan of the m performance coils and this is based on street and track experience. I think they have on benefit you can buy them pretty cheap compared to these others but you get what u pay for.

Are there even Moton or Ohlin set-ups for the F87 currently out there/released? My initial search didn't show them. The KW Clubsports look to be a very nice package...three-way adjustment and integrated coil-over/camber plate strut in front. I think this will get my $$$

There is Ohlins and Moton available.

The parts are the same as the F80/F82, the difference is the spring rates.

Rear shocks are shorter as are the springs/spring rates. We just wrapped up a build last week on one.

+1 on Ohlins. Ive tried the commercial brands, they do not come close to how Ohlins responds on the street.

Compare the shaft on the Ohlins to the others in the market. Not only that, it is made mostly from aluminum, so its lighter than most i have seen and tried.

Ohlins F80/F82/F87 share the SAME part # MP40

Here is an image of the shocks.

No sir-https://www.ohlins.com/product/road-...2016-2017-f87/

The Kit is MR40 for an M2 not MP40 for an M3...the rear struts have a different marking on them and spring rates are different. Just ran into this last week...

I apologize.

Must be a fairly recent change

What was your offset and camber? I'm on m perf coils due to the perf edition and am looking for track wheels now... would really hate to spend all this $ and have it not fit due to the wide spring.

I started off at -3.2 camber, using 18x10 et33 track wheels with 275/35 square NT01's. Not enough camber. Totally sucked on track. So I jacked up the front and adjusted the gc camber plates to as much as I could get before the stupid m perf extra large spring hit the inside of the goddamn inner shock tower. I'm guess I'm close to -4 but not sure as I haven't had it on the rack yet. After that the car felt a lot better on track, better turn in, less understeer, better tire wear. But I want more camber.

Btw with the wheels I'm using u will need a small spacer up front, I am using 12mm. The tire/wheel will fit just fine with the shit m perf coils. But the camber u will be limited due to wide ass spring

I am now shopping jrz, moton, kw, ohlins. I shouldn't knock the mp coils too much. They do a great job for 99% of the use case. Good street set up, allows for -3.5 camber more than enough for most. But my m2 is primarily track, actually it's starting to evolve towards only track use and for that obviously there are better choices. I think for the majority of the population tho, the mp coils are fine so take all this with a grain of salt

Also I drive like a fucking jackass on track. I'm used to driving race cars and doing race car shit so I might be demanding too much from the little M. I will say it's a great car and a lot of fun. It's not a Porsche race car but duh. For what it is it's awesome. I'm saying this because I may be an anomaly and not a good data point. Honestly for most "adv class hpde superstars" 18x10 with 275 r comps with camber plates and street coils will be fine. Run -3.5 up front at least, try to get -2.5 in the rear (good luck) and go have fun. It'll be fine.

Makes sense. I'll probably settle with +ET25 or +ET28. With the tires I'm going to run, -2.5 to -3 degrees should be fine for the tracks I run.

This is still primarily a street car for me..
