Do the maps automatically update with the 2017 models?

I'm looking into buying a 2017 M2 with the 609 navigation. I currently have a 2015 335i and have always updated with BMW Nav Codes. Which is awesome by the way.

I'd rather keep on doing the updates the way I have been doing it. They seem to be available way faster of than BMW.

part of the ConnectedDrive service is automatic map update using the phone unit in the vehicle but it's limited to specific regions rather than the entire country

Thanks for the information. Seems strange though. There are those amongst us that travel outside of a region.

I'm going to see if I can update the map via USB also. It's relatively cheap for the ability to have the whole map updated versus just a section.

My 2017 M2 is stuck at map version 2016-4 for both Region 1 and Region 2. Haven't received updates for either of these regions in almost a year.

Anyone else have a newer version for either of these regions? Can be checked under the Navigation software version menu.

you just log in to the ConnectedDrive website - https://connecteddrive.bmwusa.com/cd...n?locale=en_US - then under My services -> Map update
