Ordered mine end of July and the car was produced on 16th August. As of this week status code is '9630 - Port of Entry' ... so I believe the car is effectively in the UK, just waiting to be transported to the dealer
Just out of curiosity does anyone know where the port is for BMW deliveries? From my research, it seems to be Immingham (near Hull): Port of Immingham Merlin |

My supplying dealer in the south mentioned Southampton as port of entry when mine comes in a few months - perhaps they ship to different ports depending on dealer location?

"Spoke with BMW Customer Services, car is being PDI and they confirmed it wasn't due to damage to the vehicle rather they are having issues with having to clear backlog very quickly. Also, it appears some of the options are not all fitted at the factory - I suspect BMW may have adopted this stop gap measure to free up factory production, but I was told that it is normal for the car to be at status 9646 after delivery to the UK. " Via: http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtop...8215&start=855 Seems to be standard code for PDI and plate fitting: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=20414023 |

Spoke to the friendly sales manger TRL on babybmw. I haven't order through him but he was kind enough to reply with this.
Oh I wish I had a pound for that question..... I know its a code that does not appear on the threads posted. fear not my friend.... it means your dealer (like me) has his PDI checks and plates done at Southampton. BMW have set up a PDI centre there to assist dealers when their own workshops are busy. This is a good thing so dont worry. Can you put a post on the forum for me by return as to explain what 9646 means. it will help stem the confusion! its not paintwork to damage that's for sure. |

To give people an idea of how quickly the car CAN be delivered, my M2 was at the port of exit six days ago, on the ship five days ago, and this morning it arrived at my dealer's in the UK.

You guys are really lucky. My car has been sat at my dealership since middle of July awaiting a replacement diff and they won't let me take it until its been fitted. My pickup WAS rescheduled for 1st Sept (new reg) but now they're saying it prob won't have the diff by then and I have to keep waiting!

That's a really long time. Mine was built 10th August and was pretty much out of the factory door and onto the ship within a few dates. Why so long after being built is it being collected? Did you leave it at the dealer's waiting for 1st Sep?

Hiya. M2 arrived at the dealership mid July and I was originally due to collect it on the 29th July (was in the states before then). 2 Days before I get an email about the diff prob and told I can't collect the car.
Currently they STILL don't know when they will get a new diff (they have the new bolts only) and I'm not being allowed to take it. They've provided a loan car BUT its a 220i M Sport convertible and convertibles really aren't a great look for a middle aged dude who's losing his hair so roof is staying firmly up. I wish they'd just let me take the M2 and return it for the diff, like a normal recall, but they won't. SO frustrating! And while I'm really pleased for you guys who are getting your cars, I can't believe how cars made AFTER mine are being collected while mine sits there. BM have dropped the ball with their diffs and seem in no rush to sort it. |

I know how you feel, as I was in the exact same boat you were. Car was stuck at dealership since mid July. But somehow my dealer was able to get hold of the corrected diff and bolts, and I took delivery 2 weeks ago. Good luck! |
