Diverter valve noise?

So maybe I wasn’t listening before but today it’s pouring hard in the tri-state area. So en route to the gym. I can hear the diverter valve dump air back into the intake. For those that don’t know what it sounds like... it sounds kind of like a blow off valve. But not as pronounced

I have ASD turned off. I’m stock

Doesn’t bother me but I definitely can hear it.

I swapped the air filter to a KN air filter and I can really hear it all of the time (radio off). I like it.

It's amazing how much of the engine you can actually hear after you get rid of asd. With a dp/sport cat you can hear the turbo whistle when it's spooling up. So intoxicating.

i want to hear the turbo spool so bad. I can barely hear it now.

K&N seems tempting but I also read a lot about the oil filters causing issues with the MAF..

I thought the oil MAF thing really didn’t have that much supporting data. I thought that was disproven a while ago

K&N was not greasy at all. If it is after cleaning, too much oil was used. I can hear it spool with just the drop in.
