Help! Problems with iDrive (Nav and Satellite radio) after factory warranty update.

Hi all,

I have a ‘21 M2C with the 1/2 screen CarPlay. Had coded ASD off with BimmerCode and had coded Fullscreen CarPlay through kubax86. Everything was fine.

Took my car in for an oil change and they did some warranty update related to 3G cell service expiring.

Now my carplay is back to half screen (annoying), satellite radio doesn’t work at all (really annoying), and the factory nav system is stuck on “Navigation Loading” (worrisome).

I have an appt w BMW on Monday to try to get them to look at it, but is there anything I can do to fix this?

Car is under warranty.

Code ASD off again and enable full screen CarPlay with BimmerCode. Of course you can contact Kuba to enable full screen but it isn’t necessary with the updated version.

BimmerCode couldn’t connect with the IDrive module

BMW will need to reload your Nav.

Bimmercode is unlikely to be able to code the new headunit module. I switched to Bimmergeeks ProTool and was able to access everything.

You can then reapply the Carplay patch.

Also make sure your bimmercode is updated. I couldn't connect to the HU after the update until my bimmercode was updated.

Update - got the car back from BMW today. They reflashed it again and voila - satellite radio and Nav are working again - yay! Still only the 1/2 screen CarPlay though.

Also the reflash updated my firmware to NBTevoY (originally was NBTevo W), which I had hoped would mean I could simply use my BimmerCode app on my iPhone to enable fullscreen CarPlay.

Unfortunately, BimmerCode cannot connect to my navigation module - still get that “Error while reading coding data” message. And a “ 0143 - Activation Code rejected” status. Connects to other modules just fine.

I sent a note to BimmerCode to see if they have any ideas (after making sure I had downloaded the latest update for the app etc).

Was wondering if anyone else has seen this?

Wrapping up this saga - the BimmerCode folks got back to me, sent me a beta of their next update - solved the problem - connected to the Nav unit just fine and thanks to the update from BMW it’s running NBTevo version Y, and there was the option for full screen CarPlay!
