In my armchair tuner opinion, Seems to me there could be a tune that optimizes IC, intake and exhaust. What about a stage 5 with meth injection?? Regardless, I plan to start with IC and S1 tune.

Is this simply plugging in a dealer scan tool and exercising the waste gates min/max allowances? Reason why I ask my my buddy has an auto repair shop and a oem to oem turbo swap should be pretty easy for him to do. The only issue I see to arise here is the syncing the waste gate procedure. Can you let us know hows its done?

He's mentioned before, they don't mess with fueling.

Does this system work with the MPE? After paying $3500 for it I would hate to part with it or even 'parts' of it. Also we have only shell 91 here or husky 94 with 10% ethanol - would the 91 affect the map and power?

When running on 91 you would be yielding less power then what is advertised. Yours gains would be approximately ~15-20% less. |

I inquired about pricing here in Toronto and was surprised by the price tag, nearly 1/3 the price of the car. Labour was close to 40 hrs.
Has anyone in the canadian market got pricing yet? |

I did, for me here in Canada the turbo, IC, intake and tune is approx 8k cdn. Includes installation. They are a dinan BMW dealer, they followed quoted dinan hours for installation on each piece. Shop rates are high here. I'm going for it. Car is perfectly balanced stock (power/handling wise), a bit more power will make it more scary for my daily drive haha. Only downside I see is tire costs hitting me a bit more often.

My local (Louisiana) Dinan dealer is following the Dinan recommend hours. So, 11hrs for turbo, intercooler and tune. They are currently 120/hr.

10-12 thousand dollars all in for a gain of 55-75 crank hp?? that seems pretty steep dollars to power...

Does not seem much at all IMO. I think pricing is fair. People are paying this much money for a single exhaust! MPE people are spending $3-3.5k on!

I think that's without install, and above someone was quoting 40 hours of labor, so probably at least 10k. That does seem steep for the gains.

I can assure you that it doesn't take anywhere close 40 hours to install all of the power package components, whether it be stage 1 (3.7 hours) or 4 (13.2 hours).
Click on the "specs" tab for each component on their website to reveal the install time.

Usually I DIY everything myself. Exhaust, intercooler, CAI shouldn't be a problem for me to do myself. I looked at the turbo installation guide and you have to lower the power steering rack and remove water pump? Not sure why. |

My quote was $6225 before tax, for parts + installation by my local dealer. (I told them to put in the order because I NEEDS IT)
That's for turbo, intercooler, intake, and the tune. (I already have MPE) I imagine the dealership will take care of the core charge. $6k for ~100hp ~75lb/ft while maintaining warranty is a good deal in my eyes. Could be worse. |
