Ok awesome thanks man. Is TPMS something we need or can we leave that off too? If you leave it out does it leave a warning etc. the whole winter?

Spring for the TPMS sensor. You don't want a constant low tire pressure dash light on. There could be other ramifications by not installing it as well.

Note that you could buy the TPMS sensors and code your car to support them, then you could see useful info in iDirive like actual tire pressure, temperature...I'm thinking about doing this myself. |

Thanks. PS. Here is what the guy from Apex wrote me: "We believe the correct TPMS sensor is the RDE027. This is the manufacturers part number. BMW will assign a part number to their own sensor, and we do not currently have that information on file. This should be the same sensor found in the F22 2 series as well as the F8X M3/4. Since TPMS sensors must be installed with your wheels during mounting and balancing, the last thing we want is to cost our customers time and money if they have installed the wrong TPMS. Therefore, we always state that the customer check his part number with their local BMW department. Though we may have a recommendation as to what the sensor may be, the only way to truly guarantee the number is through BMW."

Thanks.
Only 16 pledged with 5 days to go. Not looking too good for the $200 discount. I was torn between the Apex wheels and some of the added 18 inch wheel options from Tire Rack (although none of the Tire Rack wheels for the winter package are 9 inch wide). An additional $200 will put my order over the $2000 psychological barrier and I may rethink getting a Tire Rack package instead of the group buy Apex package.

Went to the BMW dealer today for service on the current car and confirmed the TPMS assembly part number above is correct. See attached printout directly from the dealer's parts system. Hope this helps someone as I was getting the same boilerplate reply from Apex regarding the need to confirm TPMS part number with the dealer. My reaction was - if you list it as one of the choices in the dropdown list, then just f#$%g tell me which one it is.... Anyway, this should take care of this question. Looks like this also matches the part number in realoem.com.

I'm confident we will get 30, I asked apex to email everyone of the 59 people who completed the feeler phase. I also posted the link to bimmerfest too. But yeah, i agree with you too, if we do not end up getting enough to 30 i may be looking at tirerack or something else too.

Let's go everyone! We have 20 and need 10 more. Sexy wheels, some of the lightest around, proven brand, some of the best winter tires you can ask for, OEM BMW TPMS sensors installed, tires mounted, balanced, and shipped to your door for free, what more do you want??

I need to edit my order to include the TPMS and I'm not getting any help at all from the Apex representative ( to that question or to other questions I've sent to them!). ANYONE KNOW HOW TO EDIT AN ORDER ONCE PLEDGED?
I hope their follow through on delivery is better than their customer service so far.

I pledged this morning - number 23 of 30. I called and verified the EC-7 18"x9" ET31 fitment for the M2. The M2 TMPS (part # 36106856209) are in the optional accessories drop down list when you pledge. For tires I chose the Alpin PA4's. I'll sacrifice some grip in the snow and ice for better handling. Although I live in the snow belt, I have other vehicles to drive if the weather is terrible.
I've lusted for a set of Apex wheels for years. I almost feel guilty about using them as winter wheels. Let's get those last 7 slots filled... |

They just responded by email and were apologetic and cooperative about editing my order. I take back my earlier rant.
Hope they get 30 orders. I'd hate to start all over.
