I can't really say that I've noticed any noise reduction since installing mine. So I might just pull them out and not have to wonder if it makes any difference to the engine bay ventilation. In an OG M2 i wouldn't worry too much but since the air duct intakes on the M2C seem not to be optimally placed, might be best to do whatever possible to help the air ventilation from the engine bay
