Please BMW, give me a spectacle of driving skills like this 1M video so we can all feel proud of the blue and white, not slightly sullied and disappointed as a campaign based around a chic in a red dress makes me feel. Don't misunderstand me, I get that it's supposed to be tongue in cheek and Gigi is hot and power to her and all that, but meh. It's underwhelming from the makers of the ultimate driving machine. Fair call Robin, first two were pretty good I agree. But I'm sure you'll agree not in the same league as the 1M promo. I just don't think a girl in a red dress is the direction I want to see them go. Banging an M car through a few formed concrete slabs sideways will get my vote everyday.

Funny part is, you don't have to watch the video, just fill out the form. Even funnier, if you select at-de for people from Austria you can't win anything, just a link to the BMW website, like other countries. So I think, even BMW itself spend too much time looking at Gigi, something I can't blame them for BTW here is the alternative version of the teaser video Gigi talking about herself and the M2 Last edited by c01; 04-15-2016 at 07:21 PM.. |

Gigi is not even in a bathing suit/bikini and the whole thing is being called 'sexistic' by some, from Sweden of all places .... Anyway...
Let her be the cute girl and make money her own way. But because we're here at an intercontinental BMW forum and BMW/M2 is an international brand, I'd like to see 5 girls getting in the M2s, making it even more difficult to guess in which car sits who A mix of intercontinental ladies like: Charlize Theron Rihanna Lucy Liu Sofia Vergara Kate Beckinsale etc etc Cheers Robin |

And your comment about "welcome to 2016" is a bit funny too when it is the complete opposite, it is in the year 2016 this shouldn't happen (if you try to be politically correct). I personally couldn't care less but it is quite poor judgement from BMW in today's climate when it comes to genders to use this as an ad as it was sure to provoke a lot of people. Half our office said WTF out loud when we watched the ad. |

Compare with the 1M ads where they let the car speak for itself. Now we're talking: Was it really that difficult to conceive something like for example the "Perfect Balance" ad ? "Walls": "Helipad": "Perfect Balance":

That "Walls" commercial is "Eyes on the 1M" and features several Gigis...

I see nothing wrong with the commercial - it's just a girl in a dress walking to a car. Nothing sexist about it at all.
Some people should stop overreacting and being too sensitive, I guess.

But hey, whatever, to each their own. I'm from the Netherlands, a very very liberal country, with gaypride, pot, hookers etc etc(not saying I agree with all of that but wake up please) and now a cute nice model in a bloody dress getting into our fav car is called sexism. I don't buy it. Period. Next time it's Pitt/Cruise/Bieber/DiCaprio whoever, girls falling in love and nobody gives a damn... I'ts so unilateral, emancipation/feminism(yech) and hypocricy, because religion thinks differently. So we're in a tie situation... This is just a nice add. And I feel really surprised how people from'liberal' countries react. Incredible. Cheers Robin |
