61k!? lol....this car well equipped will be 75k+ freight, fees, and tax....throw in a good ol "market adjustment" and you will close all in a shred around 90k. This sounds reasonable as the new m4s I'm seeing decently equipped are starting around the 95 range.....Good luck to you all, I'm sure the car will be sweet but I will keep my 235

Are you talking about the M2?

Pretty sure a fully loaded 235 (perf pkg etc) is more $$ than the m2.

My other M2 is week 26 production (LBB w/6spd) so I now have the luxury of driving the DCT and seeing if I like it or grabbing the 6spd. Nice options to have at the moment.
Wow nice how it played out for you lol. All along I thought you were offered the BSM because you were #1 at that dealer. Now here you are with more M2's then you know what to do with! Sucks to be me/us lol

I will be interested to see how you feel about the dct after a month or so...please let us know what you ultimately do.
My biggest fear of going dct would be to grow tired of it after a while. But you are in a great position being one of the first to get this car since you won't lose much (if anything) if you sell the dct months later...

No way man. Although this won't be an exact fair comparo since I bought mine gently used (6 months old with 10k km) for 50k. Mine is the M performance track edition in mineral gray. It came stock with the M perf LSD, m performance exhaust, skirt package, alcantara wheel and some carbon fiber touches. The MSRP on it new was 62k but this option package is magnificent and the M2 in Canada with decent options (not loaded) will be mid 70s for sure.

Well you're right, not a apples to apples comparison. But like you just said, msrp new was 62k....more than m2. Granted, no upgraded wheel but the rest, like MPE, skirts etc some would argue are not necessary on the M2. I'm sure you know the m2 is pretty much loaded in stock form. Dct and telephony only options really.
In either case, you did well at 50k and the only way I would own a 235 would be in your configuration.

As someone who just bought an M2 here in Canada your numbers are off. I'm into mine for $75k (tax out the door) so its $66k.

I don't know many people who are excited for the 235 but I do know many uber excited for the M2...

I'm totally on the fence transmission wise.

I've just sold my 991 C2S which was PDK and there were times I missed a manual but then there were times in which having an auto with Launch Control and ease of operation were fun too.

When one of you guys/gals receives your manual I'd love to swap for a short drive to experience the BMW manual transmission.

Wow if you end up passing on that LBB 6spd. ...let me know thats the exact configuration I want.

So BMW autohaus is a respectable dealership in the GTA?

I've also emailed the GM at Birchwood BMW where I'm sitting at no.2, and I've request a screen shot from BMW saying that they will only get 1 unit this year because I am having a hard time believing that and thinks that they are just trying to get me to cancel to sell to another client.

That's funny cuz I don't even see a build and price for the m2 on the Canadian site....Also, check all US posts these orders are all coming in at 59-65k before fees and tax. This is before market adjustment as well. I live across the river from Detroit so I know pretty well how the prices vary between our neighbours so you are getting this in Canada for under 70, it's base, ur lying, or ur dad is president of BMW NA or some other unspeakable discounts. Time will tell when I walk into my dealer and actually see one

.........

the Canadian MSRP is not a direct exchange rate of the US MSRP.

the cdn msrp was released months ago. LOL

yes, thanks. That said, you are naive fool if you don't think the north American divisions of all manufacturers adjust their msrp pricing on a quarterly basis to hedge against currency exchange risk and fluctuations. What they announce in press releases and you will get slapped with at the dealer or online will show you otherwise. Do some price comparisons on some m4s in USd and Canadian to give you some perspective.

So you are saying the quote signed by the dealership Sales Manager means nothing? Doubt that. Mine shows MSRP plus the LBB and the usual dealer charges and HST - that's it.

You don't let up do you? As probably the first or one of the first in North America to be receiving his M2 here's my sales agreement for my BSM that's at the dealer right now. This should shut up the discussion.

maybe once I price one out for myself. lol...I know the mark-up on m4s between US and Canada is extortion so like I said - for you to only pay like 5k more on US prices is a steal or some discounts, no idea man. I don't know your situation so I'll have to see when they actually start hitting the floors.

Porsche had the same situation with the GT4 when it came out. The U.S. and Canadian MSRP's were close or near to the same yet such a currency difference. Porsche never charged Canadians more to make up for that currency difference and BMW will likely act the same. I bought one and ended up selling to the U.S. and simply made great money on it via currency arbitrage.

Of all Canadian dealers I cold called to secure my M2 allocation not one tried to charge a mark-up over list. And when I got the call to see if I wanted this BSM again no attempt to charge over list.

Haha... you are out of your mind. Ignore tax (because you pay tax on every car)... my M2 will be out the door for $65,187 and it is FULLY loaded minus DCT. My loaded M4 (with discounts) was $94,000. So, just shy of $30,000 in savings

You might be sad that the M2 is such bargain but stop spouting silly talk

Seriously... educate yourself. I have my invoice in front of me and it's $65,000 with freight and all of those things. I also know what I paid for my M4 and it was WAY more.

Why are you so mad?

P.S. If you don't have a confirmed order now, an M2 won't be available until 2017 at the earliest. They are effectively sold out for this year... next year it's possible BMW will raise the price but, even then, the numbers you are throwing around are pipe dreams.
