TCO M2
I have a M2 on order and I'm trying to make an educated guess to the total cost of ownership of the car.
I was wondering what the average fuel consumption is for your M2 and how many km/miles you do with a set of tires. Perhaps also try to describe how aggressively you drive your car |

Driven moderately/mixed terrain you should average in the low to mid 20 mpg range. Aggressively mid to high teens mpg. My guess on tires (stock Michelins) is probably going to be around mid 20K range if no track days and not always tearing it up. All depends on your driving style really....

DCT and I average around 23 with mostly highway driving. Auto stop off. Conti tires and I hope they wear out soon so I can get rid of them...

I never got anywhere close to 20mpg even if I turn on auto stop.
4 mile driving to office takes 40mins average. I'd be lucky to see 13-14mpg.

That's the worst possible thing you can do to your ICE car. Should've bought an electric or a hybrid, TBH.

My brother is doing the same thing with a WRX and I feel horrible for the car. His commute is like 1.5 miles at most... My commute is not a whole lot better, but mine's ~10 miles each way with highway involved as well. I get up to full temp daily and rev up the tach at least 2x/day (usually more).

The gas mileage on mine is pathetic, find myself in gas stations more than I want to be - and in the car's defense, I drive 'enthusiastically' - it's so damn intoxicating...

Interesting.
The reason I ask this, is because I have an offer from a leasing company for a contract for 4 year with 120.000km. Every month they charge (incl. taxes): - 336.45 euro for fuel - 142 euro for unlimited winter/summer tyres The amount they charge for fuel every month equals 11 l/100km or 21.38 mpg (US) for 120.000km with current fuel prices in Belgium (1.4820 euro/liter for SUPER98). So this can be interesting. I have no idea on the tyres part. |

I drive mine daily in the city and average about 19.5. That's only about 25 miles a day. Not much highway driving yet as I'm still in break in miles....

Daily commute which is half rural and half urban I get around 21MPG when driving aggressively is the rural parts. Pure highway is around 26-28MPG. Aggressive all the time is around 15MPG.

Both tires and MPG depend on how hard you drive the car both accelerating and taking corners and which transmission you have.
I have 15k on my stock Michelins after 1 year and they have plenty of tread left. Rears are certainly more worn, but I would expect 25k before they would be bald. As for the gas mileage, with DCT my normal commute puts me somewhere in the 23-25 MPG ballpark, mostly rural and highway driving. With full highway driving I have seen in excess of 29 MPG. |
