I put a dinan sport tuner for $300 and a fabspeed catted DP for $1300 on my M2 and crush my buddies S55 M3 all day long anywhere in the powerband..... I still will profess my hatred for that engine. Although great with the tech.

Digital instrument clusters are the future. Here's the one of the Audi Q2.

I, for one, would never want a fully digital cluster in my M2. Definitely prefer the old school mechanical gauges.

Analog or digital. It's the driving fun that counts imo
But I guess I could live with this layout and an S70/2: Cheers Robin |

Perhaps a fully configurable digital dash would be the best option overall. Not just two or three pre-set modes. |

I also like having some "dimension" to the interior. Having the touch panel to control everything in his car versus knobs and buttons I can easily use by feel would drive me a little nuts. I know there is the plus side to these things, though. They can be upgraded easily and new features can be added. Just not a fan of anything but simple to use and simple to read instruments in my car. |

Although I appreciate an analog cluster, a digital one is far more versatile. Love the fact you can customize them. Imagine, you could have a oil temp gauge ALL THE TIME. When's the last time you had your NAV screen die? When's the last time your laptop screen died, without it being dropped? The tech is pretty reliable nowadays and if my cluster went out it would be a temporary setback.
I can even see apps in the near future that can tell you how much fuel you have in your tank, when your next scheduled service is, etc. Imagine being able to config your cars features from an app. Functionality outweighs any risk IMO. |

In 20 years (once every Kia has a digital dash) Audi will launch an Analog dash option as part of some timeless luxury package for $5k. It will probably be glitchy the first couple years too. |
