The M2 is almost exactly as 'heavy' as the E36 and E46 M3s and lighter than the E92 and F82 M3s.

Yes, it could be lighter still but it's not like the M2 is some modern world fatty either. Cars this size have this weight unless you spend more money on lighter materials.

The Mercedes AMG 45 and the Audi RS3 are about the same weight too.

True, the Porsche 718 is considerably lighter but that is a TWO SEATER!!!

Take it, enjoy it and IF you are able to buy a CS-version at a reasonable price you can sell your first M2.

I'm getting my second M2 in March and will probably sell it later this year with minimum loss. A friend of mine just sold his 1 year old M2 for more than I'm paying for my new. I'm not worried at all about resale value. Even if it gets worse than it has been I can't see it dropping like 'normal' cars.

I want to agree with this but you will have to take into consideration other factors such as market availability and the type of customers who are buying these cars across it's life-cycle. Up until recently there were very few cars and a lot of customers.

Again, this is not just ordinary customers. These were customers who desperately wanted the car as soon as possible and were in many instances willing to pay more than MSRP for it. As the availability gradually matches the demand, the number of people willing to pay more than MSRP or a very high price for the car will start to diminish which is why you cannot use a past precedent to forecast the future.

This is especially true when there is a trend involved.

Looks like the M4 LCI got a +6hp bump (from 425hp to 431hp), with competition pack now up from 444hp to 450hp.

Room for an S55 in the M2 LCI??

I guess not, but maybe a minor HP bump?

One of the users on German 2er presented a screenshot from his system regarding M2 CS production but took it down so I wasn't able to copy it:

Same guy who posted the screen on M2CS also says that N55 M2 is going to have EOP 08/2017 due to EU emissions 6c coming into life.
Despite the fact that it really affects cars from 09.2018, BMW is supposedly making an engine switch earlier.

Hard to believe. M2 LCI is expected late Summer 2017 (rumor has it no significant changes, except for upgraded head and taillights).

Does he know that M2 has already emission rating EU6 (unlike the 1M which had emission rating EU5) (see excerpt of MY2016 M2 spec sheet) ?

See my earlier post pointing out that the M2 has definitely emission rating EU6: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...2#post21131172

Benef1cient and I referred to the discussion at the German forum 2erTalk (as usual, we quoted the direct reference to those sources).

Personally, I got no info, so I wait for official info to be released by BMW.

That's not the way this thread works, Artemis! Post rumour and innuendo as hard facts... be contradicted by someone else's rumour and innuendo posted as hard facts... rinse and repeat.

Let's keep it to 'connecting dots' that surface on the interwebs, with the expectation to see a global picture emerge. But, hey, one can connect the dots the wrong way, with an unrecognizable figure as final result. And some dots can turn out be no real dots at all.

Quite some confusing info floating around at the moment.
