If ya'll wanted to be patriotic all you had to do was to put the US flag on the roof and make the rest of the car black or white.

It sounds like everyone missed the part about this being a contest. As a designer, if I am commissioned or enticed to create a conceptual piece, especially for something as cliche as an auto show... you bet your American loving huevos that I'd design something off the wall and uncommon for attention and conversation. This wasn't a contest for creating a new production color scheme.

Now that being said, I think theres a few ironic things going on here... a German car draped in an America flag? Maybe the actual paint displays a German flag, and the stars & stripes wrap is symbolic of something else?

And a blind jury? Ha - that's hilarious!

Get a smock, some buckets, lots paint and brushes and get busy making some damn art on wheels.
This was done by a dealership, Laurel BMW.

Over on the BMW AG side...
rotate the image 180 degrees and it looks like a male body part

I somewhat agree, but who is the top purchaser of M Vehicles? I'll put money on it is the States. And be quite honest I would presume BMW would be out of business if they weren't selling road vehicles in the United States.

BMW was banned from manufacturing motor vehicles after World War II. And I think all you guys know why. Permission to manufacture motorcycles was granted to BMW by United States authorities in 1947.

It is what it is, lipstick on a pig - what's new. I'll take that over the puke metallic yellow, LOL.

It can't be unseen and now the visual is stuck in my head. And now that I think about it, it belongs on a race track not at a premier car show.

This car looks far better in pictures online than it did in real life. The wrap looked so grainy and horrible even like 10ft away. I also had no idea what I was looking at vs. online where I can at least make out the stars and stripes. Wish they skipped the art and gave us more car. Something similar to what they did with the M4 and M3.
