I’m only stating what I’ve heard from other track guys, no first hand knowledge. Even if the Cup2s provide equal or slightly quicker times, the RE-71R is quite a bit cheaper.

Simon@RENNSpec ran 1:55s with only jrz, upgraded rotors, and yoko a052 at 3360 pounds (seats plus oe half cage, 6MT). 1:59.1 on oem 280 tw tires.

Shows the car is tons capable.
The R888 tires had their downfalls, but the R888R is a significant departure. They’re still noisy, but they wear much better and more consistently. Plus, they offer a stiffer sidewall and a redesigned tread pattern to offer more grip. So far, the R888R has been great for us.

I've seen the lap times from Simon and I am quite impressed! Our car is weighing in at around 3550 and we're still dialing in our suspension and brakes. We have some weight reduction coming in soon as well!

Love the cage. I'm going to try some 295/30/19 and 305/30/19 test fits this week. How much did you guys lower your car?

Thanks.

I really love the Project.
You guys should come to Germany and test the cars' Performance on the Nordschleife.

Appreciate the measurements! You guys are dropped lower than me, so clearance shouldn’t be an issue.

It’s not as pretty as the Brembo GTRs, but I got my AP Factory 378x36mm front BBK installed today. Lookng forward to trying them on track.

Keep the updates coming!

BFG R1S are right there with Hoosier A7's. Only slicks are faster but a PITA to keep in their temp & PSI range. I never took to slicks and also had a few fail on me...
I run R1 vs R1s because they only give up a couple 10ths and last twice as long...

yeah I 've heard from many that the R1 last a good time. I'm glad to see that you actually differentiated R1 vs R1S because many people take R1S as saying R1's and that just confuses everyone else lol

The Hoosier S80 that I have are supposed to be the R1S of slicks. Super sticky, super soft, super fail (longevity). I will save them for a day I need to break the world record of black e90 m3 lap times.

Can you share more info on the wing? Is that the BMW MS wing used on the M235R?

I have posted about this....I have track tested over 6 different tires/sizes on my M2 mostly on 18/9.5 square, lowered on MP coilovers. The 265/35/18 R1 set up is my overall favorite, great grip over most temps, long wear and no rubbing on high compression.

Twt,

Good to know re 265/35/18 working well all round. What offset are yr 18" x 9.5" wheels ?

What alignment are you running up front with MP coils ?

TIA,

Bp

Interesting choice for the wing. What did you have in plan for frontal area downforce? I am interested in following a similar build path for the front
