Ken, I'm afraid that if your dealer is telling you he'll get an August allocation, he is simply not connected--at all--to the situation. This is very similar to my small dealer experience--a complete lack of connection to information, except in the case of that dealer, instead of getting predictions, I've gotten a series of shoulder shrugs, and even ignorance of bulletins sent to NA dealers by BMW, quoted from time to time on this board. Seattle BMW has not been all-knowing, but at least they have known something from time to time. |

Made it to the port in Bremerhaven on 9/1/2016. Loaded onto the Tosca (W&W) on 9/4/2016 and is currently on its way to the VPC in New Jersey. ETA 9/21/2016 With any luck, I'll have it by the end of the month! |

Integrity ships out tomorrow, I have a good feeling we'll be on it. It's the only Galveston bound ship on WWL since the 27th.

W&W has almost weekly sailings from Bremerhaven to Galveston. There's one departing tomorrow. It took a couple of days after the ship sailed before I was able to track my car on the W&W website. With any luck, you'll be on that ship! |

Issue is not resolved and bum diffs are still being actively installed and fixed after the fact, either at port or VPC after arrival, or at your dealer later on if car is not on priority list. Thankfully this time they know which ones are bad and aren't trying to find out like with the first Nov-July batch of cars.

Normal OEM SOP to repair vehicles in bulk at the Port. A couple of reasons. Size ... more room at the port to stage and repair vehicles than at the factory. Cost ... make the supplier (to the extent it is a supplier issue) perform the rework with supplier labor and supplier parts. Makes the chargeback easier on the OEM.

Just got off the phone with the Genius. I'm week 43 and scheduled to start production late this week or early next. The anticipation is killing me!
So, since we are all sitting around waiting, how are you guys managing unloading your existing daily drivers? Dealer trade-in, private sale, keeping it and just adding the M2 to the collection? I'm toggling between trade-in and private party. My dealer offered me a surprisingly reasonable price for my 370Z; about $3k less than I'd hope to get through private party sale. $3k to not have to deal with CraigsList, idiot tire kickers, people knowing where I live, bogus checks, and all the other hassles that come with selling a reasonably expensive car to a private party, is fairly appealing. On the otherhand, $3k would cover my planned M Sport add-ons, a clear bra, and window tint. Last edited by DETRoadster; 10-10-2016 at 02:58 PM.. |

Thank you, sir! Yes, they are really impressive in person. Just stunning little cars. It's safely tucked away in the garage until after this weekend's weather. Been fun walking around it and sitting inside it, getting familiar and setting everything up just right.
Incredible cars. Can't wait for everyone else to take delivery of theirs, too! You guys are in for a treat. |

From California, it took a little over week to load it onto a truck and drive that up to Seattle. Total time is about 5-6 weeks from Germany to Seattle. |
