Only driver side seat upgrade

Hey guys!

I am considering getting Recaro Pole Position seat but I am thinking about swapping only the driver's seat. Has anyone gone this road?

I sometimes use the back seats and I would hate them to be unusable (one of the main reasons to buy an M2 was its all around usability). I also take the car for longer roadtrips and I guess my girlfriend would hate sitting in a bucket seat for longer time periods.

So my questions are:
1) Do the back seats retain enough usability with only one seat being able to decline?
2) Does the interior difference start to bug you after a while? I cannot really imagine how the car will look with two different front seats.
3) Do you ever regret getting only one bucket seat or getting it at all?

Thanks!

I do not need it so badly per se. That is why I am asking about people's experience. However, when driving 8/10 or even 7/10 I feel like I am sliding all over the place and have to brace against the door and central panel which is not fun. Especially when trying to left foot brake.

I had a chance to sit in a friend's Recaros and was blown away by how tight they held you in place.

Do you maybe have any other suggetions how to solve this?

Buy two sport seats that allow access to the rear seats then your car doesn’t look like a quasi race car and the passenger seat matches the driver’s seat

Otherwise it looks like you cheeped out

I recently changed my oem seats for pole buckets and I couldn't be happier, my wife says it's comfortable.

Still easy for me to put a full set of track tires in the back seat.

WOW! The Sport C looks neat in the interior. It is in no way an eyesore despite there only being one. And I can get one for the price of two pole positions!

Have you had a chance to compare the Sport C with Pole Position?

I never directly compared the two, but it's hard to beat the styling, support, 8-way electronics, and heated seat of the Sport C. Albeit it's more expensive and heavier than the Pole Position.

The last time I spoke with Recaro they said it would be the end of 2024 that the 3-door version with dump lever would be available. Check with Recaro to hear what the current ETA is and maybe you'll end up with one that still leans forward!

Do it properly or not at all, repalce both seats. I have Cobra Nogaros trimmed in BMW leather with the Polar blue sitching & they look oem. I also have the Recaro Pole positions (factory fitted) in my 275R. The Cobra is a better dual purpose seat than the Recaro imo plus there is a plug & play fittng kit for the M2 from Bray Krause. Aside from making the car fit for track use both the Cobra & Recaros are extremely comfortable & transform the driving experience from the rubbish M2 & M2C lounge chairs.

I now personally only change the driver's seat. I like the the flexibility of having a stock seat for my passengers, especially female ones. There is no worse noise you can hear inside your vehicle than that of a complaining passenger...

Also, the time I had dual buckets, I always hated when people would slide across the fabric rather than "plop," into the bucket. I could feel the side bolster materials scream in pain every time that happened.

But in all seriousness, it's your car. Do what you want to do for your intended purposes! If my opinion mattered, then changing the driver's seat is a-okay with me if doing both, that is pretty dope too!

Enjoy the drive!

***EDIT***
Jeebus, I should learn how to respond on forums....SMH

"So my questions are:
1) Do the back seats retain enough usability with only one seat being able to decline?

1) Yes, as long as your passenger behind you is not overly tall. Or if you are doing a "I need to move a bunch of stuff" run, the items are not sharp, super long and heavy. (I wouldn't place these items in my car in the first place) Also I have a rule. Driver's door is only for the driver. All my passengers can enter from the Passenger door. lol. Also, if you have need to cart 2 more of your hommies, ladies or kids, having 2 buckets is more inconvenient than one bucket and a stock seat that moves and folds.

2) Not at all. However I am me and you are you. So really it is a personal aesthetics thing.

3) No.Not at all
