LCI Rear Blinker Disassemble

Hi all,

As most of the people I am getting the "Left rear turn signal malfunction" on my 2018 M2 LCI. I checked the wiring and it looks healthy. Therefore, I am trying to replace the bulb to see if it fixes the issue. (Blinkers were barely lighting and I thought bulb might be the issue.)

Does anybody know how to disassemble and open up this rear lights?

I only have access to parking light and others aren't reachable. I took all of the screws off but it doesn't seem loose.

Thanks,

The bulb that you removed is the reverse light, all the other ones are LEDs and I do not think that they are replaceable.

That explains a lot. In this case, if blinker or brake light goes bad, I have to replace the whole thing?

Yes. Although if you do find a way to open them up, let me know. When mine finally go bad I will open them up and do a root cause analysis... if they can be opened non-destructively. No point in figuring out how to repair something you can't reassemble.

To open them you have to cut the back part, I have a friend who does the conversion to US on USA tail lights.

No, he welds by melting the plastic, when I have some in my hands I will take pics, he has made many rear lights for me, 95% of the Ukrainians who left Ukraine have USA version cars, to pass the inspection in Europe need yellow turn signals, and They are not willing to put a European version, so I modified them all.

Thanks for the information. In this case, is there a way to fix the blinker light as a regular person(no electronics experience)?

I think it is too laborious for someone without experience.
