Here's a recent thread regarding forged carbon https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1575848 Not really into it myself. Reminds me of cultured marble (aka fake marble) and I'd assume it was just swirly looking plastic if I saw it. I much prefer the geometry of carbon weave.

I personally wouldn't have any interest in colorful lug nuts/bolts. Not really something I want to draw attention to.

That company would be wise not to show the inside of the mirror cap which clearly shows that it's plastic not CF although I assume people shopping on AliExpress may already know they aren't going to find the real thing there for cheap. The first picture looks like plastic or rubber caps over the bolts.

Those are plastic lug bolt caps. My 2007 Saab 93 Aero comes from the factory with black ones. They can be a pain to get off. Especially if you lose the tool. They're also prone to cracking.

No comment on the mirror caps. Other than there are so many carbon pieces on my car now that I'd have to start all over if I wanted forged carbon. And the forged carbon market is too small for the M2 to do that. So much more 2x2 carbon weave parts on the market, so it's easier to mix and match while maintaining consistency.

Also not a fan of the mirror caps as they reminded me of a dirty kitchen countertop, swirled up, with clear on top. The weave on 'conventional' CF is where it's at. However, it does give people choices which is nice.

I agree. I prefer the weave of real carbon fiber on my mirror caps. I have the AutoTecknic dry carbon fiber mirror caps.
