Wagner catted DP = More sound?

Will I get more/better sound with a Wagner 200 cell ?

Reseller Said NO!?

I dont want catless, just a bit more sound.

Stock exhaust and I am not going to replace anything else.

How do I get rid of the yellow CEL?

Thougts?

If you are not looking to flash-tune your car, you need the Active Autowerke downpipe for the no CEL.

Regarding the sound, the Wagner catted downpipe will noticeably improve the sound of your car over stock.

Reseller is wrong.

ALL 200 cell cats will give you increased volume and artifacts. Not sure the exact percentage, but I'd put it at a 30% increase for sure. I did this mod first, then added the Dinan resonator delete (it's useless with a stock exhaust), then added the tune. The resonator delete didn't add any more volume inside the car, but added some OUTSIDE (figure that one out). The tune absolutely added volume, and more exhaust artifacts, even with stock burble settings.

I always recommend guys do the mods in that order (sport cat, resonator delete, tune) before spending money on a super expensive exhaust because once everything else is done it's many times just obnoxious.

Very happy with my sport cat + res delete + tune sound. 50% more volume and artifacts, no drone.

Great Fabspeed Sport Cat in the FS section, great seller: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2052900

Or the Fabspeed, which is what I chose.

Get a Fabspeed or AA downpipe, they don't need a tune because their cats will not trip the CEL light.

I have the latest version of the Wagner catted DP with 300 CPSI. It throws a CEL, especially if you have recent car software update.
I use MHD to remove the CEL, without any tune. I works like a charm.

Thanks!

Is the CEL always of with MHD or do you need to clear the code from time to time?

The wagner downpipe will give a bit more sound and a lot more check engine lights

The post cat o2 sensor is placed further back in a poor attempt at preventing cel this puts the post cat o2 sensor wiring under a lot of tension and it eventually breaks.

There is no guarantee from Wagner this cat won’t cause a cel ( it will ) and is now only available in restrictive 300 cell version.

If you aren’t going to tune you have to just spend more money and go for fabspeed, AA or a cat with a hjs core. If you are going to tune get a vrsf 200 cell sounds better, quality is as good and design is better for half the price of Wagner.

The warranty wagner offer is worthless basically said it was my fault for fitting it wrong. When I informed them it was fitted by a Wagner authorised dealer and still within warranty period they just ignored me and didn’t reply to emails.

In summary the Wagner downpipe is badly designed, more restrictive, overpriced and offers no guarantee against cel.

If in Sweden, perhaps consider a Miltek DP as they use HJS 200cpi cores or buy from HJS direct as they also sell DP with 200cpi car built in
