Nope, once I notified the CA he processed my refund the same day. It cleared my bank this morning. This dealership has made the car purchasing process extremely convenient for me since I'm located in Texas so can't say enough good things.

There shouldn't be anymore allocations left to be given for the rest of the year right? I assume the next batch of allocations would be for cars being delivered early next year.

You're correct. Next batch drops in DEC (it's usually mid month-late month) and should be for Jan, Feb, Mar builds . There is a thread already that is for those builds and will probably usurp this thread in a month or so haha.

I ordered my car on 9/19. I just got word from BMW NA via phone call that my car went into production yesterday 11/10. It was supposed to be a week 46 build, so a little early Of course they can't tell me when it will be done, or when to expect it to depart Germany. I am not getting anything done in port. I am assuming it will be shipped to a port in NY and then trucked to the dealer in Atlantic City, NJ.
I haven't been able to extrapolate an estimated delivery time based on other forum members' experiences. If you had to guess, what would you guys say as far as how long I still have until she reaches my dealer? It seems like it generally takes a week for production, then a month to get to port. Does that seem right? Maybe I'll see her before Christmas? |

so, I just put down my deposit and the dealer is saying i'm 4th in line. They claim to have no idea how many allocations they will get or when. How long of a wait do you all think I am looking at?

How big is the dealer? How many M cars do they typically sell? How many M2s have they gotten so far?

Personally, this whole waiting game is just that - a game. When I put my name on the list back in the summer, there were maybe two or three M2's on Autotrader. Now, there are 85. Sure, there are a few that are marked up and a few low mile used but most are new. It will be interesting to see how the next round of allocations affects demand. I'm number one on the list at my dealer. If he does not get an allocation next quarter, I'm going hunting.

I have been taking a look at Cars.com and Car Gurus for a few months now. The number of new M2's on those sites is steadily growing. And yes, the majority of them still have markups, ranging from about $3,000 up to over $10,000. The thing is, they don't seem to be selling. Perhaps we have finally hit the crossing-point of supply and demand. If that is the case, the remaining people (like me) who want to buy a new M2 at MSRP may very soon have their cars, or at least their allocations. I am really hopeful this is the case and not just wishful thinking or rationalization on my part.
