Rear reflector replacement - drill method?

I’ve seen many threads describing the method to replace the rear reflectors through the rear wheel arch, and the pry off method from the outside.

I’ve seen mention of the “drill” method, but not seen anything describing that method.

Can anyone describe that approach? Pros and cons?

Thanks

‘Alp

I imagine can be done not sure I would want to risk doing it without doing it from the backside.

P. S you can do it without removing the wheel. Might be a little tighter but can be done. They're a pain to remove though.

You can reach both reflector clips on each side by removing the taillights

Unless I am missing something, this seems so much easier than the “from the wheelwell” approach. But I don’t hear anyone else talking about this approach.

Am I missing something?

I didn't do it this way personally

But my understanding is it works

If you go the wheelwell route, be careful with the first upper bumper clip, I broke them on both sides when I did mine…still holding strong however..

Exactly my concerns.

I can’t help but think there is a way to get these from the outside…

I did it the other day in order to upgrade reverse lights to LEDs. No access.
