M2 axle shaft issue

Hi all,

I have an N55 F87 2017 LCI M2

It was repaired by a mechanic for the output shaft seal leakage. 1 month later the internal aspect of the same axle shaft has failed, resulting in it being very mobile laterally (it caused a noise which was initiall reason for me picking it up)

Went to a new mechanic, who suggested it was from the axle shaft being hammered in on re-assembly, resulting in a small amount of play which has increased over time with normal driving.

The previous mechanic reckons these fail all the time with hard driving (which hasn’t occurred since the repair) and is nothing to do with their repair.

I was just wondering if axle shafts failing is something that occurs commonly (even with hard driving?) with these cars?

Thank you very much!
