Surprise gift from BMW

BMW NA sent me a surprise gift. I received a thank you note for purchasing my M2 along with a BMW USB that looks like a key fob. The thank you note also includes a one-day car control school at BMWs Performance Driving School along with a two night hotel stay. What a nice surprise.

My wife just got one of these with the i3 we purchased including a day of car control school as well!

Different from a day at the M school.

Hoping to get one with the M2 as well...

Did you happen to finance your car through BMW? I got a similar card with the school minus the free room. Your card mentioned courtesy of BMW financial services so I was curious.

This is NOT M school. Totally different $850 value if you want to upgrade to an M School.

My 1 day performance driving school offer came via email on May 24th. It does state that the $849 value can be applied to other classes. Good for 12 months upon delivery. With the CCA discount, the $849 credit... maybe I can roll this into an M school (1 or 2 day) at Thermal.

Yup. I used the BMWCCA discount for the 2 day school, you should have no problem with that.

Congrats! Never got mine (and I made my purchase back in Feb). Called BMW NA today. They are checking on it. Would love to get extended the same perks (although already signed up for the M Track days in sept at The Ridge). Thanks for sharing!!

Bought my M2 in February this year. Looking at the terms, it may apply to all new/CPO BMW's in the last 12 months. I'd give the school a call and see if you qualify. Maybe you can get a credit or some $ back from you M Track Days (unless that was free).

I got mine on Tuesday. It seems they've changed the color to silver. It's pretty heavy, aluminum, I think. No mention of the hotel, but I know it's at least 1 night in the hotel as well as dinner. It's essentially the performance delivery taken after delivery.

Just noticed, my silver one doesn't have the M Sport logo. Maybe silver is for non-Ms. Shoot. They may have sent me the wrong one. Oh well. There are a couple of videos on it. Not much more.

That's the right one. I got one for my M3, silver, no M logo. I got the exact same one on my 340i as well. Bought within 3 months of each other. They make great paperweights

I got a silver one after buying my 135i in 2012 (though no card for the drivers school). Later on I got an aluminum and carbon fiber pen from them.

A couple weeks ago I got the black one the OP got. I didn't finance through BMW, though, so mine just talked about the free 1 day drivers school. I bought my M2 in October, so it took a while before I got the package.

The card I received said "As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to invite you to a one-day car control school at BMW Performance Driving School, free of charge..." The back of the card has the fine print stating that the offer applies to a "One-Day Driver's School" with a value of $849. No 2 day hotel stay, though.

You used to be able to do Performance Center Delivery free, up to a year after purchase. That included the hotel.
