BMW Performance Exhaust Tips: ShopBMWUSA.com - Marketing Image Does Not Represent Ac

Do these look like they have carbon fiber on them? The part # indicates one thing, but the picture is - INO - not an accurate representation of what is being offered...and what I purchased. I plan to talk with my dealer in the morning.

Those tips are titanium just like the ad says.

Not their goof. I used to work for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. The titanium used for the jets was a dark shade.

Yes, the tips in the photo have CF on them. The photo in that ad depicts the CF exhaust tips, NOT the titanium exhaust tips. I've seen both, and have the Ti tips on my M2, the tips in the photo are not the Ti tips. Here's the web page referred to by the OP and close-up of the photo on that web page:

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/5...-TITANIUM-TIPS

The P/N listed is 18302358111, which is the correct P/N for Ti tips. Digging around, both types of exhaust tips are offered here:

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/4...EXHAUST-SYSTEM

Ti exhaust tip P/N: 18302358111
CF exhaust tip P/N: 18302358110

Now that you can see it close, the tips are carbon fiber in the picture.

What I'm trying to figure out is the description say titanium and you wanted carbon fiber. Personally, I like the titanium. It's a very durable metal. Sometimes going through the dealer and actually seeing the part you order before you pay for it helps. I know it does me in a lot of cases.

I don't know what the dealer could help you with. If anything, call BMWNA. It's not the dealers fault the advertisement had the wrong picture.

It all worked out fine. The parts department said yeah that's not the correct picture and BMW USA has done that for several parts: the picture does not depict the actual part number. When I ordered the car then show me the picture for the carbon fiber tabs and said it was the titanium. So now they just said yeah we will get you the carbon fiber tips just pay the difference and all is well.

Mistakes can happen. The human factor.

Below is an excerpt from the official BMW M2 brochure for Germany released in September 2017 (page 14).

It's supposed to show the Chrome Line Exterior trim, but the picture shows the Hochglanz Shadow Line trim:

(source: here - "Preisliste BMW M2 Coupe November 2017").

It should have been this picture:
