One wonders where they are going to put the wireless charging phone dock thing on the CS/Competition though, since that is still showing up on the options list on these cars...

Not sure I would be happy w/out the arm rest. I like it in the forward position when shifting and use it quite a bit. After a recent experience with PDC in a rental MB there is no way I want that interfering. No beeps buzzers flashing lights and warnings please.
I am interested in the inner door panel material. It's gotta be better than the current textured plastic crap. It scrapes and scuffs even if you look at it wrong! Mixed feelings about the door pulls. They look like they lay too flat and you would have to dick around to get your hand in them? They should have inserted a piece of tubing inside the webbing so it has some form and is easily grabable. Two extra gauges look nice, too bad we won't see them in the M2.... |

I have official information in my hands that the BMW M2 Competition will arrive in showrooms in Europe in July 2018. This is information based on current planning. Of course this can always move. I received the info today among a list of other dates for other new vehicles.
Oh and the full name of the car is M2 F87 Competition on the paper I saw. MR |

It is better to push Competition until end of 2019, which is a 1.5 year timeline roughly similar to the M2 and M2 LCI, and then do one last swansong in the from of a M2 CSL limited run, full Competition Spec, no rear seats, adjustable coilovers, more horsepower, semi-slick tires and only automatic. That looks more natural for now... MR |

Interesting and nice tidbitz there.... both on the brakes and the front/rear PDC.. it has always been interesting that the car only had rear PDC previously |

Is anyone able to make an informed speculation as to whether the moonroof will still be an available option? Are any of the preproduction VINs configured with it?

One of the most useful thread about M2 Competition based on facts.
Thank you for the great job done here!

Hello forum! As a new-comer to BMW brand -- thanks to the M2! -- this is very helpful place to learn differences of "2017 M2" vs "2018 M2 LCI" vs "2018 M2 Competition". Thanks for this great thread!
I do not have an M2 yet -- I'm in the early stage of decision making and excitement of ED planning...hoping I can organize a mid-late 2018 delivery date given some peoples timelines I've read about here. Right now I am not sure if I should wait for "2018 M2 Competition" (lots of speculation on price etc.), or aim for current "2018 M2 LCI". I'm not in a rush to make a purchase choice so I'm wondering if it's possible to get on a waiting list for "2018 M2 LCI" even after "2018 M2 Competition" is fully revealed (~March) but before it begins production (~July)? It seems there's a few months (April-June) it might be possible to choose either the "2018 LCI" or the "M2 Competition" when placing an order...but I'm not sure if works like that?? Does anyone know if the last day to order a "2018 LCI" would be the day before "M2 Competition" announcement, or we'd still have a few months after that date? Thanks for any insight on this (Previously I only bought a car from the dealers lot...so I'm unfamiliar with the BMW ordering process...) |

The VINs go up to VB08891 now. An interesting feature on VB08889 is option "901 Special Check Movie Cars." I guess we'll be seeing an M2 in a film sometime soon? Or is that a poor English translation? It might refer to press cars.

I didn't know "M2 Competition" will be MY19 model...I thought it might be 2018 since July 2018 is pretty much mid-year 2018! Oh well, good to know the accurate model year designation |
