The stupid power of the McLaren P1,...to the Wicked scream of the LaFerrari to the mad grip of the Porsche 918!

Yeah,...you need all three!

Bravo. Best 1 series I've seen. Beauty and a beast.

The stock induction system on the S65 was designed with the hood inlet/vent as one of the three main air inlets as described in the following BMW diagram, the other two being the inlet behind the double kidney-grilles and the inlet in the bumper.

Even though your hood is weight optimized being carbon fiber (based on the video), I noticed there is no hood vent/inlet a la the E9X M3 hood so with your hood closed, the air inlet guide on your intake that sits where the hood inlet would be is effectively blocked from receiving air.

Was this deliberate? Or was there a discussion with the guys who worked on the project? Obviously a Dinan 4.6L is far from stock, but I couldn't help but notice that your air intake system follows the shape of OEM S65 intake but the hood doesn't have the inlet.
Hello,
Good question. We planned on cutting a vent into the hood but after driving it around and on the track without the vent we noticed there is zero difference in temps from the e92 with the vent. I still plan on adding a vent but it is more for cosmetics and to suggest the motor when the hood is down.

Just read through this thread today, so sorry for the late reply.

The entire experience with this car and working with Marco over the years has been amazing. Being able to hang out with Jay at his Garage and talk shop with his technicians was like a dream for us.

I've said it many times and will keep saying it, thank you Marco for this entire experience...it has been really amazing. Thank you Dinan, we've been a Dinan believer for many years and stand behind their products always. The Dinan built 4.6 Stroker engine is still one of the best. I think these engines will continue to become popular over the years as new technology make it more and more challenging to modify cars. This car is pure enthusiast driven and it shows. We don't like building garage queens, so this car represents a lot of what we stand for.

Like Marco mentioned before, he drove it to SEMA, then back to SF, then to the SuperStreet event...won that and came back. We had the car prepped and detailed and trailered to Leno all within a month...insane. Wouldn't change a thing and will be forever grateful to Marco and Dinan for this experience.

Probably better than a 1M GTS because it's overengineered than what they would offer I assume. They don't put a V8 in anything smaller than a 3-series. The idea then would be to put a V10 in the M2 next.

Honestly think the S63 in an M2 would be way cooler.

seems like it will instantly lock when the water levels are high enough during a flash rain storm

I don't think you could lock it if you ran a garden house into the snorkel

Just a quick question, if someone were to do a build like this how much would it cost around?

So many factors go into a build like this. The you essentially need a 135i, an e92 m3, 1M bodywork, a qualified tech who can do wiring and someone who is great at coding. It's around 150 hours of labor.

If someone was to replicate my build exactly, expect to pay $150k+
