you risk damaging the wheel with lower pressure if you hit something.

Today I received the complete and updated pressure indications from BMW. As you'll see the update is dated 11th May with the 255-35-18 M+S as a winter rear alternative.

Interesting. Approximately 30 33 psi f/r. Tried driving like that for awhile. Tires felt soft with lots of traction. Dealer said 35/35. Probably wrong. I think I will use the lower pressure in snow and a little higher when it is dry.

You're better off reading the engineering specs on the TIRE rather than relying on BMW to give you their specs.

Also for track driving, you should target and monitor warm temps rather than cold.
