Then things all started to change. Slicks, fancy brakes, coil overs. Eventually people modded their cars so much they started arriving with trailers as the cars were undriveable on the road. The egos were also out of control. And the fun was no more. That's when I lost interest. Would be nice to have "track days" like they have in the UK. No timing. Just fun. Ours were taken over by Motorsport bodies, attended by would by would be racing drivers, scrutineered by the type of people that get thrills from pulling wings off flies. There would be great market here for people that would just like to have a bit of fun every now and then. |

And to be honest, for the normal driver a set of lighter wheels/tires isn't going to make much difference in times, and as you say, 0 difference in fun. |

I DK what you are thinking we are about, but all the HPDE events I've attended were "no timing. Just fun [well, with a big helping of instruction in how to drive better]". I noticed lighter wheels on my 228, even on the street, so it is a real factor for driving feel and not just FTD. And I've never damaged a wheel at a track event, unless you consider caking them with 5# of tire worms and brake dust.

I asked my deler in Norway for a complete set of the 19" 763m's in Frozen gold for my 2017 M2.
They asked 54653 NOK, which is 6385 us dollars. That's supposedly with the 15% discount for us members of BMW Car Club Norway, and without tires. Quite the difference from the prices I'm seeing here! |

There is no color difference on the gold rims between the CS and the M Perf version. The only difference is the M Performance stamp on the lip of the wheel.

This has kept us busy for a while, together with some friends, as we were unable to view both types side by side and with identical lighting conditions. We also note that the price of the 763M CS rims here in Europe is lower than the same ones with the Performance stamp. |

Perhaps there's a slight difference from batch to batch, or lightning is playing a big effect on how the pics show the color. |

M2 CS 763M wheels: "Gold Matt" - no "M Performance Parts" logo embossed: I did not see yet the wheels side-by-side, but to my understanding the finish is the same.

I think they are pretty good batch to batch, I was thinking of a much older set that I saw (official BMW). Quote:

I'm now thinking it was this grey car that I saw, but looking at different angles of it you can tell it's just the light making them look different.
The last pic is Frozen Gold too, and yeah, if I can get a set like that I'm THERE!!! |

I skimmed through this thread. Is there a definitive place to get these gold wheels with the tire pressure monitor for a decent price in the US?? So far everything I'm finding is around $5000 USD for wheels or just under 7000 USD for wheels/tires.

BMW parts worldwide .com is selling the set for $3500. You can buy TPMS from various places for $35 a piece if you don't mind non OEM.
