Smokers and Storage Packs
Can someone please clarify what each package actually gives you in the M2?
I have ordered my M2C with both, but I can still change it of course. |

If you want smoke coming out of your ass in addition, you are covered with the smoker's package. Hope this helps!

Storage pack adds a few cargo nets to the trunk, a 12V socket in the trunk, some hooks for the trunk, some seat back pocket nets, and i think a tray near the battery in the trunk. (might be off about that one). BMW is kinda nickel and diming here.. |

Is this new with the recent cars or a Canada thing? I have a 2017 (took delivery just about a year ago) and I have both which were standard.

Update from BMW Canada:
Smokers Package - Ashtray and cigarette lighter Storage Compartment Package For the interior: - Folding compartment in instrument panel on driver's side - Driver's and passenger seat with nets on seat backrest - Rear 12V power socket In luggage compartment: - 2 lashing eyelets with netting that can be adjusted manually - 2 bag hooks, left and right - 6-point fastening on luggage compartment base - Additional 12 V power socket If you don’t get the Smokers Package, you still get a 12V socket in the front cup holder area, and you still get the sliding door above the cup holders. |

There was no way to get the hidden folding storage compartment on the left side of the steering wheel if you ordered the current M2 with the Driving Assistant Package because that is where the lane departure button is.The Driving Assistant Package was standard in Canada. It would have been nice to have the compartment because i always leave the lane departure off anyway.I wonder how they were able to offer that on the M2 Competition because the Driving Assistant Package is still standard on the M2 Competition in Canada.

Driving Assistant, which includes automatic braking in the event of a low speed collision probably replaced it. The same thing happened on my wife’s Mercedes B250. They replaced the Lane keeping assist with collision assist. |

My 2018 with Exec package (US car) has two buttons over there, one for the pointless lane warning, the other for the semi-useful distance assistant (emergency braking).

My 2018 without the Executive Package has a cool opening bin, which is probably more useful than either of the two buttons - or what they control.

I would love to have that storage bin and relocate the stupid buttons somewhere else though.

Does the lane departure warning vibrate the wheel or just beep?
