Im glad someone like you, not even an M2 owner was placed on the board t let everyone know how crappy YOU THINK their taste is...In fact if you complimented the hood I'd be worried...6 Pages and I couldn't find one positive thing you've ever said to anyone...Are you the mysterious "Dildo Schwaggings" from South Park? If not you guys would get along, for real

anyways yea the hood after installing in the dark was off. Ive adjusted it, and been getting nothing but compliments from random ppl on the road to ppl at shows...

While I still may have it partially painted, Its really growing on me...I love it, especially now thats its fit more or less, properly...

Let me ask you if we were face to face at a car show, would you tell me to my face u hated my hood or its ugly? I doubt it.. Why? Not bc of any other reason than its impolite. bottom line...

And the hood popped up bc my body guy after repairing the car couldnt find the hood closure sensor (its built into the latch) so leaving it was on and it stayed on for a week, and once it actually was open and i was used to it being on soi ignored it and it came up on me....So it was my fault but theres an explaination other than i just forgot to close it...
I know this post wasn't directed at me, but I would absolutely tell you in person that I don't like the hood. Maybe that does make me impolite. Unlike you, I don't care what people think about my car or my mods. If I post anything on a public forum, I expect people to have opinions. Stop getting offended and start accepting the fact that some people will never like what you've done to your car. All that matters is that you like it.

IDK why everyone keeps assuming Im getting so offended. In fact I said word for word ppl can say and think what they want...Just bc I respond to both positive and negative posts alike doesn't mean I care what those ppl think...

Maybe you are the type that would go out of their way to tell someone you dont like something...honesty is a good trait. IDK what I would say, if asked...

I do know Im more the type to find things to compliment...If someone asked my opinion, thats a different story. I dont know what I would do/say to be honest...

As for the hood, id agree it looks "horrible" and "off" in some of the first photos, and that it looks better in person...

That being said, I can totally understand why someone wouldnt like even the idea of a cf hood on an M car, It's not a mod I would have ever invested in had the hood not needed replacement in the first place...I outgrew cf hoods years ago, but I planned on painting it and still might...But it is what it is and Im enjoying it and the look for the time being. That might sound contrtadictory, but humans are complicated beings lmao.

Lastly Ill just state the obvious, saying "I dont like it" and "looks like shit take it off, or a personal attack" are two different things. Its one thing to give an honest opinion, its another to just be an asshole...Am I wrong to expect more civilized comments on a BMW forum?

Its not like he put on a carbon fibre wrap....honestly don't understand all the hate for this.

Personally I think it looks good on a BSM car, as long as the fitment is correct.

I didn't like it at first, but it's growing on me. I wouldn't paint it if it was up to me.

I'm surprised. Seibon's been getting bad rep from the 1 series world due to bad fitment. Looks great!

Fitment looks pretty good DKM3Power. How did you attach the hood latch and hydraulic hood lifts; Epoxy or are they bolt on? Could you snap a picture of the underside of the hood?

Its all OEM fitment. The Seibon hood even comes with its own bolts and large washers so it has a larger area of adjustment...

The hood latches are the same too...

The hydraulics snap on like OEM.

The ONLY thing that was a LITTLE weird were the small plastic pieces thta go around the the hood latches...Hard to explain but where u plug them into the hood the holes are too wide and i broke them trying to widen them. Not a huge deal...

Ill post pics tomm.

And thanks for compliments all.

To the OP: Hood looks great on the BSM and an understandable replacement option with the story behind it.

My questions for everyone is why the big push to make everything carbon fiber these days? It is more for appearance or is there significant weight reduction/performance gains? Again, not knocking anyones choice as we all personalize our cars to suit how we see them at their best.

Wasn't sure on the hood in the first few pictures, but looks really great here especially against the BSM, looks aggressive!

Nice to see someone doing different mods than just the normal black grilles and painted kidneys lol. Keep it up OP, ignore the haters!

Is there any need for hood latches on this? I know a lot of the old 1M guys had to install hood latches on the Raze hoods.

Hydraulics snap on, but they were broken when the hood flew up...but they seem like ball joint types you just grease and sna on..Im waiting for replacements..the two rectangle latches screw in, only trouble I had is the balck plastic that holds them in the proper positition was too small and falls off, I order two new ones that i will modify, until then I just have to be careful. Also thats where the hood latch sensor is so great care in your placement of the right ring...

Otherwise the hoods held on by 2 bolts, stock where 10mm or 12mm, the bood came with bolts in those holes to protect those threads..

Ill upload pics, currently I am getting tim damage fixed, I am the worst with protecting rims...

Is this the F22 OE Style bonnet?

They don't seem to have one for the M2 specifically.

I literally had no idea what any of this meant when I was reading it. So are additional hood latches required with this hood..? haha

Miscommunication I think!

20-40 pounds off the front of these cars is not negligible. Removing weight from the rear is easy but removing weight from the front is really difficult
