Conception! I'm still at 112 for my week 37 car but maybe it'll start tomorrow or Friday; no worries anyway since I got 10/5 ED date confirmed.

I'm anxiously checking MyBMW and the Production Status phone number but mine is still no production date...

Finally, as of this morning:

Phone line says estimated completion date of 09/13.

I guess it started yesterday, because my CA told me on Tuesday that it still hadn't started production, and the website and automated phone line is known to be slightly out of sync. 2 weeks for an estimated build would put the start date as yesterday as well.

Also confirmed it started production yesterday, so it's fair to say that the website and automated phone line are behind by only 1 day currently.

Me too!

Just shot an e-mail off to my CA to see if he can give me my VIN so I can figure out how much the insurance is gonna hurt.

I'd be willing to bet I get mine before you though, since I will probably deliver into Baltimore... unless they actually ship even further up the Great Lakes and deliver by boat up here? (doubt it if they only have one pre-delivery center on the East coast though)

Checking around Autotrader and looking at what they are listed for (both dealer and private sales), pricing is kind of all over the place. A bunch of them are in the lower 40s, some with more mileage than me and some with less, and pricing seems to be as low as 39k and as high as 49k... there's one guy dragging the market down with a ~8000 mile car only asking $39k too.

If I put mine up it looks like I will be the only Sepang car on sale though, which I have to imagine helps my cause... If I can get 35k privately I've (barely) beaten the dealership offer (even with the trade-in tax advantage).
Wish I could get more numbers for you but they are pretty rare through the auctions. The right buyer will definitely pay what you're looking for (and pay the dealer their $40k). But you don't have the marketing budget or the time that the dealership has.

GLWS.

I got bumped back a week - supposed to start sometime in week 36 now, which is next week, so I guess that makes me a week 38 finish.

I used to feel bad for people getting bumped down, and envious of people getting bumped up, but I think I see a pattern emerging here...

Those that have PCD or ED have a scheduled appointment date for that, and may get bumped up or down to ensure that they meet that date. Most other people, including me, seem to have not moved and production started and estimated completion date are all as predicted once we place the order with the allocation.

Maybe I just have to wait a little longer... the phone line says 112 status though.

Finally, car started production this morning! It's estimated to finish on 9/18... so I guess now I'm technically scheduled to finish Monday of week 38.

I'm in California..... so I guess this means I won't get the car until around... Thanksgiving?

I'm week 38 but yet to start production yet. I think you'll probably get the car before Thanksgiving but it doesn't hurt to set the expectation. It's better to be surprised it comes earlier than to expect it to come beginning of November.

I on the other hand am hoping it's sometime the first week of November

I think the best way to guess the delivery timescale is to look at the shipping schedules to Port Hueneme after your scheduled completion date.

My estimated completion date is 09/13, and the following boats are scheduled to leave after that:

15-Sep --- 12-Oct --- Morning Courier --- WWL
20-Sep --- 22-Oct --- Marguerite Ace --- MOL
21-Sep --- 17-Oct --- Equuleus Leader --- NYK
26-Sep --- 22-Oct --- Don Carlos --- WWL
28-Sep --- 26-Oct --- Clover Ace --- MOL
29-Sep --- 26-Oct --- Tortugas --- WWL

BMW apparently prefers to use WWL, and it's unlikely I'd make the Morning Courier, so the safer bet would be the Don Carlos, leaving 09/26, and arriving in CA on 10/22. I don't have any port installed options, and my dealer (yours too @just blaze) is the second closest dealership to the port. I'd estimate 3 days from there, which would have me taking delivery on the week of 10/23 ~ 10/27.

If I make the Morning Courier, or the MOL or NYK ships following that, it should be even earlier.

My CA predicted the week of 10/16 ~ 10/20 when I placed my order, though obviously didn't guarantee that. He might end up being correct though!

Ends up my production started on 8/31 as well. First new BMW, and I won't tell you how long it took to get an allocation.

Can't wait for it to roll into storage for the winter...

My car started production today, with an estimated complete date of 9/18. Do you think there's a good chance I'll make the Don Carlos?

I've no idea Xtianh. If you look back on a few threads here, you should see how long it took to get from production complete to Bremerhaven, and then from there, onto a boat.

Taking the information from the sticky:
-Build finish (155) to Scheduled for Carrier (182): 1 day.
-Status 182 to 190 (on a train to bremerhaven):1-3 days.
-Status 190 to 193 (at port awaiting a ship): 1-2 days.
-Status 193 to 195 (on a ship): 3-5 days for east coast delivery, 5-12 days for west coast delivery
You can calculate a worst case situation of 18 days from completion to sailing, and a best case of 8 days.

If you complete on 9/18, then 8 days would be 9/26, 18 days would be 10/6.

For a completion on 9/13 (my car's estimate), puts me some time between 9/21 and 10/1.

The biggest variable in this is the time it takes to get from status 193 to 195, and that depends on when your car gets to the dock, how busy it is, and when the next boat leaves. Based on these dates, I think there's a high chance I'll be on the Don Carlos, and there is a lower chance that you will be.

As has been seen in some of the earlier week 3x threads, some people have finished production first, and ended up taking a boat later than others that finished production after them. In this case, I guess it's caused by a delay in moving from 182 to 193.

Does anyone know the boat schedules for East coast delivery? I believe mine will arrive at the Baltimore port.
