Either way I think my strategy will be to exhaust any non drilling and non off-centered alternatives first. I think your link will be my plan B should the first one not work out. With it being only $10 bucks, I figured it's a good first step.
When you do use that $10 holder you will notice that the plate is a bit wobbly. Not a lot but still. What I did was get a piece of two-way tape. The thick spongy type and I put a piece at the top of the back of the plate and it then sticks to the bumper and makes it perfect. Just an FYI.

The bracket has been shipped and should be here any day now! I'll update with my experience with it.

In the meantime, some more goodies getting installed!

Next up, will likely be getting my front reflectors painted and rear reflectors replaced.

I'm looking for a bracket that may have arms that come up to allow the plate to essentially almost float there in the front (centered). I'm not a huge fan of the tow hook mounts myself. The search continues, but for now (on the few decent weather days we do have), I'm just driving without it.
You mean like this? Had one and they work great. You can buy one here.
FYI So I installed this today. Beware that it does not stick out far enough for plate to clear the bumper (assuming you fasten it to the grill).

I got around it by using longer bolts and a a coupler acting as a very thick washer. I adhered a foam strip to the back of the plate because it does bounce around a bit...I don't know how thrilled I am with that but it wasn't expensive so no biggy if I go another route.

What did you use for fastening to the grill?

i just used a regular bolt and nut with a large washer in behind the grill but i was not able to fully tighten it...hard to hold nut in place while tightening...
i will probably have to go back and re-fasten it with proper fasteners...like this:

On a side note, seems like there are a few of us in this thread from the same area! If you guys are interested in a cheaper alternative to CF parts (ie mirror caps for example), let me know and I can put you guys in touch with someone. I'm thinking of getting my mirrors done.
I'm interested in getting something for the mirrors. I have a BSM and did the grills, side markers, side gills and rear spoiler. The OEM carbon mirrors are ridiculously priced so let me know what you have in mind.

The way the front bumper is shaped I think the centre mounted plate in the pre-drilled slots actually looks best. i learned that after receiving my us mill works tow hook plate and looking at another tow hook mount on the lot. then looked back at the centre mount and it was an easy decision based on the way the M2 looks. I sent the usmillworks plate back.

I also got a Winnipeg jets plate so that definitely helped as the blue in the plate complements the BMW blue. Having our standard green white and yellow prairie plate would have looked awful.

So you are happy with the cf look on bsm? I'm in the same boat re the mirrors. Autoid could be a economical option. Also another guy is selling these- http://www.1erforum.de/threads/m-sty....234978/page-2

Think they are 220 euro shipped approximately.

I've been eyeballing these too, but on the fence about quality.

I like the shape on these a little better and the fact they can paint LBB helps.

Ugh, I gotta make a decision before modding season begins in May.

Progress continues!

Full front wrap getting done (Full hood, bumper, fenders, rockers, trunk lip and mirrors after I replace the caps). The wrap being used is Suntek.

Also going with Pinnacle Formula One ceramic tint - 30%

Did you pull the bumper off so you could fasten it or did you just attempt to hold it through the grill with your fingers..?

^You should be able to do it without having to pull the bumper off.

In other news, very happy with the clear bra install and the tint. They did a great job! Highly recommend Pureauto to anyone needing work done in the GTA. I was concerned that 30% may be too dark for my liking, however it seems to have come out just fine.

Springs and spacers are on the way! Might be done everything before the break-in service at this point lol
