M2 had about 0.7-0.8 reaction, which is good 1M was slow to react and seems like a novice driver, 1M should of def ran a quicker 1/4mile, at least 13.2sec with a decent driver. |

How does the fact that the M2 is faster lower the value of the 1M? A Ford Fiesta ST is probably faster than an e30. I don't think the Ford will ever go for $100k. There were only 800 or so 1M's made. It won't go down in value.

Hey wait- lets run an E30 vs an E36 and check out which is fastest ..
Seems like one could just check the car and driver test times and call this one .. Of course the newer car is faster. |

If there is a clock ticking next to you - I bet the alarm will ring and you will wake up from your dream soon ! See my above comment about E36 and tell us again how the E36 is worth more because it's faster ??? |

No matter how you slice this, the M2 is faster.
If you think otherwise, you are kidding yourself. Everyone with a previous gen car goes through this, I went thorough it with my e92 M3. M4 - Blah, my M3 sounds better. blah blah They are both great cars, and we should we privileged to own either.

I'd definitely take the 1M over the M2. All day, every day. Give me a Valencia Orange 1M please.

Totally agree, the M2 should be quite a bit faster then the 1M. But its not faster then the E9x M3, (unless tuned) they are basically a drivers race between the two in the real world. On paper the M3 is faster but by like 3 tenths and 2mph in the 1/4.
Depends on who gets the launch, if the E9x gets it the M2 will never catch it, if the M2 gets it the M3 can eventually reel it in but it will probably need more then 1/4 mile. As for the other comment I dont see this hurting the 1M resale value, the M2 is going to be higher production and there were not many 1M's made. Is the M2 a better car, yea but the better car has nothing to do with resale.

... meanwhile, I'm in the parking lot at my office and the letters on the back of my car still say ST...Y?
I don't really think you can go wrong with either; the 1M is like that girl you shouldn't have passed on and the M2 is like seeing her again, but now she's exponentially more attractive - don't let her go again.

They (the E92 M3 and M2) seems pretty evenly matched to me...
