My bad, you are correct. I had the 6ns checked before the my17 came out so its actually costing me $2150 more.

I went from an April production to an October and .... will contact my dealer tomorrow to see if my production is now sooner (hopefully) like Parrnan and Benzima.

How many here waiting for a MY17 are planning to add the sunroof option for $1500?

I am on the fence and will likely try a M235i with a sunroof (to verify headroom) before deciding.

I'm waiting on a MY17 at this point. I won't add the sunroof. I've had one on nearly all of my cars, and I never open it, and the sun coming in and hitting my eyes drives me nuts. I'm not going to pay an extra $1500 just to close the privacy screen.

I will be adding the phone upgrade though. Since I live out in the country, I won't be adding the super loud exhaust. I really don't want my neighbours shooting at me when I scare off whatever they're hunting...

My M2 will be a "summer car" so as it is not converible I've ordered the sunroof. I would have ordered it last year but it was not available on MY16 M2.

im still on the fence re sunroof. Ive had them in all the coupes ive owned and tbh, use them more at night then during the day...So the proper term for it would apply in my case...A Moonroof.

My SA did warn me that he felt by getting one on this car it would hurt resale value...what you guys think about this?

That is really weird... In fact it is the contrary of commun sense.

As this car is a summer car, I guess that what would really affect the resale value would be to NOT having a sunroof... But that is just my opinion.

yes this would be my thought process too but his point was that for the most part, the type of person buying this car wants to track it...

No sunroof=

-more head room for a helmet
-less weight

I probably will add it but need to decide asap. I have same build week as you...dont think we would have much more time to make changes.

So I filled out my car Club discount and it was denied by bmw Canada! They say only m2 and m4 gts not included! How the hell do they just cherry pick two cars but allow for all others. You either belong to the club for more than a year and qualify or you don't. Plenty of guys have bought m cars with discount. I am half thinking of pulling my deposit and saying fu to bmw on this whole process. I have a better chance to get a 718 I think.

People who track their cars often don't want a sunroof... weight and headroom. The M2 will likely be a track car more often for some so I can see the logic. Having said that, I don't think it will really matter.

We've known this for a while... and it's BMW's program so they can do whatever they want Why would they offer a Club discount when they can sell every car they can bring to Canada at or near MSRP? Although I'd like them to offer this too, they don't need to provide the incentive here and I can't blame them for removing it on a low volume, high demand car.

Maybe, but it is not everyone who has access to a track...

In my case the nearest track is at Mont Tremblant, at 280 KM (174 miles) away... So no track for me...

There is also the F1 track at Montreal, 160 KM away, but I don't think it is available for us.

What!! That's close enough for at least 2 trips a year

My track is about an hour away (say, 120km 'ish). If I lived within 3 hours of Mont Tremblant, I'd go at least twice a year and make a weekend out of it with the Misses.

i ordered MY17 with the sunroof and Carbon MPE but without the Smartphone Connectivity Package.

i always had sunroof on all of my previous cars and i thought i could live without the sunroof when i got my 16 Golf R. i can tell you now, i CANNOT. i am only willing to trade tye sunroof to a carbon roof.

Good point.

But from my location to go to Mont Tremblant means having to cross Montreal, so it can take only 3 hours (outside rush hours) but it can also take more than 5 hours if you get cut into Montreal circulation trafic bottleneck...

Anyway, I'm not really interested because driving to its limits a $72,000 (before taxes) on a track car without any insurance coverage does not really please me...

No sunroof for me.

I do not think with or without sunroof will affect resale value.

I am getting the MPE and the SmartPhone options however! I do not plan to sell my car anytime soon.
