Tough crowd... Best bet is to call around to dealers, no one really could tell you. Luck of the draw at this point.

Depends how flexible you are on color/options (I may have only seen one without the exec package, so it comes down to color and transmission).
You can either call hoping to find a car at MSRP, or call and see how long each dealer's list is. If they have a short list, and you suspect that they'll get a fair amount of allocations, you may have a car before the end of the year. It's supply and demand, for the next few months supply will be tight as BMW apparently can't produce these without slowing down the assembly line, and there are people who have been on the lists for months if not longer. As those lists get shorter, getting one will be easier I suspect, but likely would still involve a short wait is my guess. Also, for those that aren't dead-set on the M2, they might settle for something else and remove themselves from the waiting list. One dealer I spoke to has roughly 40 on the list, but anticipates that maybe only 30-50% will purchase for example Call your dealers and see how many are ahead of you. Find the dealer with a relatively short list, but who also has sold a good amount of M cars (so you know they'll get allocations, going on a short list with a dealer who isn't going to get an allocation won't help much) |

With BMW estimating 1,800 units for the US through the entire lifetime of the M2 production, I'm beginning to wonder how many people on those 30-40 people lists will actually be able to get a car. Things can certainly change and only time will tell, but I'm glad I got on my dealers list quick and am now in the #2 spot. |

Agree that it all has to do with how patient you are. I had a deposit down back in December 2015 and signed a buyer order that stated MSRP...ended up canceling a couple months later due to personal financial concerns.
Called my guy back a few days ago just to see how the list had grown, and figured i'd go ahead and get back on the list just for the hell of it. Ended up signing the same buyer order that stated MSRP for whenever an allocation comes up. Maybe it varies by dealer or maybe i'm missing something? |

Assuming a 2015-2020 build cycle, 1900 units for UK is what I read. I think the US estimate is low, more likely to be somewhere in the 2500 range over the lifetime. Here in Canada we'd be lucky to get 500 |
