Simply spectacular, what an entertaining post...now feel like hitting my mountain drives by San Diego! Manual M2 is my next car for sure (M240i as a nice back up plan).

bwhip,
Very nice post & one of the nicest I've seen in a while/ Excellent photos & getting a glimpse of an M owner actually getting their car off the driveway & back on some enjoyable back roads is pure bliss in many regards. These pictures make me want to purchase an M even more now...

Great post, OP. The region of eastern WA, OR, and western MT, ID is incredibly gorgeous both on the road and off. I spent 15 days going through the region a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it.
The 99 mile downhill drive from Missoula, MT to Riggins, ID on HWY 12 through Nez-Pierce Clearwater is simply magical. Last edited by GVN*2FLY; 05-20-2018 at 09:21 PM.. |

TRULY EPIC! Thanks for sharing the great pics. I've done 500-ish mile drives with a similar number of twisties here on the east coast, but the exposure of the roads you took pictures of is something else.

Great thread. Great photos. Great inspiration.
Just got back from a 2000 mile trip circumnavigating the Wallowas and managed to drive many of the roads in this thread and a couple other threads of yours. I posted on the F90 forum. Grangeville to Elk City did not disappoint. Wow. And, thanks for posting maps......that really helped. Gotta get me a drone. |

For people looking for cool roads to drive, Porsche has an app called Roads you can check out. You don’t need to own a Porsche as far as I can tell. I discovered a few treks others have posted, it’s kind of interesting.
