2017 Spring weekend visit to the Dolomites in 100 pictures
 Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Always a treat to visit that marvelous "Pale Mountains" range. Majestic towers of over 200 million years old. UNESCO World Heritage for all the right reasons. For those who plan a European Delivery: consider adding the Dolomites to your bucket list. Snow fell a few days before my visit, repainting the Spring landscape the way powder sugar does on a delicious cake. Clean but dusty roads (still lots of pebbles around, this time of the season) and very low traffic. I will let the 100 pictures speak for itself: Welcome To Wonderland.  Photo camera was simply my Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone. Took most pictures through my open sunroof, impromptu shots. Nothing staged. No picture was processed, except for resizing to 1920x1080 format. So what you get to see below, is what my eyes witnessed. Mountain passes (chronology):

Are the roads drivable at a reasonable pace or do you have to crawl ahead with the PSS tires?
Its hard to judge how cold it really is and how much grip it provides or if some parts of the roads suddenly are snow covered. |

Regarding road conditions: perfectly driveable with PSS (no crawling, no sub-zero temps, no ice or black ice).
Trivia regarding the Passo Falzarego tunnel shown in pictures 31-34: that's the location where BMW shot the BMW 2002 Hommage mountain pictures in Spring 2016.

Outstanding photos, it must have been a great trip.
Planning something similar at the end of July after taking delivery at the Welt. I know the roads will be thronged with tourists but plans to do it in April were scuppered by my dealer. How was the M2 on a long road trip? Stock suspension? |

That was cool. I randomly came across this while in northern Italy. Not many BMWs running but lots of awesome Ferraris and lots of old cars. Best part was watching everyone lined up along the roads to take pictures.

Lovely. We drove down from Stockholm 10 years in a row for skiing. Up until a couple of years ago we would go down in an E39 M5 which was basically only used for this trip. And last year I went down those roads in an ambulance after tearing my ACL coming down Arabba ��

Beautiful scenery and by extension I can only imagine the drive is outstanding. It's wonderful when someone actually "gets it" and enjoys a drivers car the way it's meant to be enjoyed.
