I am skeptical of the accuracy. Genius said last week I am confirmed for week 20 build. Maybe I got moved up last minute...

I am skeptical of the accuracy. Genius said last week I am confirmed for week 20 build. Maybe I got moved up last minute...

Not sure what the build status is as we can't get that info here. But I do have my VIN now. Anyone know how much time before the build starts do you get your VIN?

Typically you don't get your VIN until production has started, so congrats to you.

Hope that's the case. I used a BMW VIN Decoder and backtracked a bunch of VIN's. Seems the last M2 was built April 29 and it was roughly 110 digits before mine. From that one forward there is no date. Wonder how many they build per day. I think I read around 10? Regardless it's getting closer to the big day.

The Genius should be able to give it to you. Once you have it there are several online VIN decoders that will spit out your build info. I use this one http://bimmer.work

So i finally got my vin from my dealer a few days ago, production will end hopefully Tuesday according to the BMW Genius. But i'm curious, do any of you know if our built will be pre or post lci?

Pre. You bought a 2017 I'm assuming. 2018 builds start in July.

Yes thats what im assuming (and yes i ordered a 2017). I was only
curious because in that article (http://www.bmwblog.com/2017/05/04/le...w-m2-facelift/) it was supposedly a 2017 model with the newfacelift. In that case im curious to know at what point they will switch over to post lci builds for the 2017 or if there will even be any.

Either way still feel the pre lci model looks more agressive imo

The article has the year wrong. It should say 2018.

Same. I am scheduled for completion tomorrow. I'll let you know if they were accurate.

I'm way more worried about getting on a boat quickly. Sounds like some people had to wait weeks at port.

VINs up to V888585 have completed production. Mine is due next Tuesday as I'm just above V888600.

It's up to 588 now. Sometimes I see about 5 cars produced and then days like yesterday there was about 15 produced.

I actually checked bimmerwork earlier today and seems I should hopefully be done production by Tuesday the latest. Kinda premature, but i've already started ordering parts.

Hopefully they'll get you on a boat soon.
