Think it's because of the metal (or metalic look) mesh, haven't seen any recent BMW's with metal mesh; maybe paint them black instead of leaving them silver/metalic?

Looks like something from the Pep Boys aftermarket parts aisle. Options are good, but I'm not a fan of the look of these, and not a fan of the tactic of hi-jacking another member's thread on their own work.

No comparison.

The metal mesh ones don't fit with anything else on the M2, in terms of style language.

I have the Acexxon gloss black honeycomb inserts still in the box (want to install the right way from inside the rear bumper) and if I don't install them on my car I'll just put them up on display in my living room. They are that nice-looking!

Of course they will make more sense being on the car though, hehe.

Would agree with the Pep Boys analogy; the appearance and quality of the product produced by Acexxon will be hard to beat. In regard to appearance the honeycomb and slats both relate to current design themes..was going to go with the honeycomb but then saw the slat pattern on the M4...perfect. Now, after the fact I am glad I did because the slat design emphasizes the width of the flared rear end of the car.....awesome!!!!
