Who here has dropped to 18"s but still on stock suspension?
Keen to know whether you've noticed a tangible change in 'comfort' over poor roads vs the 19"s.
Theory says the increase in tire sidewall should provide extra cushion, just wondering what your experiences are I know there was a considerable difference on my E46M when I went down to 18"s.

I'm also interested in this, the roads in my area are appalling (some of the worst roads in the UK). I already run the tyres on my standard 19" wheels slightly lower than recommended for extra comfort......

I drove on 18's all winter and can tell you that the stiffness difference is negligible between the 18's and 19's on this car. YMMV

Putting a lightweight set of 18s in combination with a meaty sidewall made a positive difference to that car in a lot of ways, not just comfort. I guess my head is still in that mode of smaller rim, bigger sidewall. Thank you, given that winter tires are usually 'softer' makes it even more impressive the difference was negligible between 18" vs 19"

I have, looks goofy with a 285/30/18 less goofy with a 275/35/18.
