F-gen BMW's are just way too high and/or have bigger fenders if you know what I mean.

Just some food for thought, when you specifically stare at the wheel/fender line, everything looks tucked, but if you step back and just look at the car as a whole, usually factory BMW M spacing is pretty damn good. The M2 seems to be even more spaced out then the 1M IMO

Lets face it, spacers are for looks, not performance. |

The above general comment of "1 pound of unsprung weight is equivalent to adding 7 pounds of sprung weight" is complete BS and an old wive's tale. It depends on how much rotational inertia is added by the unsprung weight, and how the angular velocity of that inertial element scales relative to the translational velocity of the vehicle itself. Even in the worst cases where the mass is added all the way out at the edge of the tire diameter, adding 1 pound to the tire only translates to the equivalent of adding about 2 pounds to the vehicle body instead (in terms of impact to straight line acceleration). For the case of a spacer where the increase in inertia per unit mass is so incredibly small (since the spacer diameter is so small), there is virtually zero impact from the inertia, and it behaves like it's same original mass simply added to the vehicle (so 1 pound = ~1 pound). Go ahead and work out the math if you don't believe me (compare the relative kinetic energy in the rotating + translating unsprung mass vs. the energy in an equivalent purely translating mass). It's relatively straightforward basic kinematics. |

I put 10mm front and 13mm rear H&R on my 435 GC and it made a HUGE difference in the look of the car- I should have went 13 Front and 20 rear...

I went with 12MM in front, and 10MM in rear, and it's perfectly flush. Like science. Big thanks to VAC Motors to figure that..

I had 3 mm spacers on my 135is so I could use a square setup and get 255/35 tires in front with no strut rub and no fender rub. Was perfect. Whoever said spacers were for looks only is wrong. As far as the weight. Negligible especially in consideration that the wheels themselves were about 5 pounds each less than the stock wheels.
I'm thinking about getting some 35 offset wheels for my M2 for track use and using a 5 mm offset on the fronts again to fit the square setup on the car. I haven't finalized this decision but certainly am not discounting this option because of spacer weight. |

I have BMS 15mm rear and 12mm front on my car right now and the rear is very aggressive but it looks so right on this car. These are the spacers from my F80 and I really did not intend to put them on the car. I asked my salesman to take them off the F80. I expected to find them in the trunk of car with the other items I asked them to remove from the F80. I went to pick up the car and they were on the F87 and my stock lugs were in the trunk. I like the look very much. Accidental greatness? Some pics are in my garage. It validates for me, that the rear BMW style 359 19x10 et25 will work on the car with stock suspension and stock size tire.
I will say that I consider the spacers to be a street only mod and will not run a spacer at the track.

Just confirming that you installed 15mm rear/12mm front on your M2? I have exact same spacers left over from my MY15 X3 and have been contemplating installing them on my M2. Did you encounter any clearance problem? Do you have photos to share? |

Finally put the 12mm spacers I had lying around on my M2. Looks great and absolutely no clearance issues. In fact, because camber's a more negative now, the ride harshness has actually improved. I guess that's because it's riding on inside sidewall a little more.

I guess my always thinking spacers were a bad idea and something the sport compact crowd did was incorrect. I get that it's for appearance but there's no adverse risks for the wheels, hubs or brakes? Sorry if this is a noob like question...

I had a 12 front and a 10 rear and switched to 15s all around. Personally I like it way more this way.
