I believe they can be coded out, or at least there is a thread on coding out the beeping. To be honest I didn't read far enough to verify.

Yea, I believe longbeachbluem2 actually installed an 'off' switch for the rear camera and/or beeping, which of course required some coding.

bobert I installed the switch, but it didn't need coding (http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=2897). Not sure why the standard 2-series part wasn't in the car to begin with (already came ready for it). There might be some coding that can be done to completely deactivate the backup sensors/system, but at least this button allows you to turn it on/off. Sidenote, it's interesting to click camera on when at a light to see how close the person behind me is. Sometimes it shows up with the red squares and loud beeping

Did the rocker switch actually need to be replaced when you did the swap? Or could you have kept the sport->comfort switch? What kind of tools did you need?

So you added the one button? I'm right to assume that the 4 button setup (with the camera) is for the overhead cams in the 3 series?

hoyasaxa No, not needed. Swapped the faceplate because of my OCD. Used an old credit card to get underneath the unit, and it easily popped up. No major prying or fighting. Photos of switch apart thanks to BFLY

I know we're off topic, so hopefully this helps resolve this.

If this angers you then you need a chill pill. Aren't there bigger problems out there in the word for you to solve?

You could have answered the question instead of wasting your time with that response.

The image he attached is a generic stock image. And he spoke about turning on the camera while stopped at lights. Logical question.

Now that we've been all around the car, does anyone with an '18 M2 have a new story to tell about Adaptive LED Headlights?

Doesn't seem like anyone in the U.S. took delivery of an LCI M2. Or at least I have not seen any posts on here of any deliveries.

You mean besides mine? (See the OP.) I just can't believe my car is the first and only base '18 M2 in the U.S., although Bimmerpost obviously only represents a small percentage of owners.

You just replied to the guy who took first known US delivery of an LCI M2 (at least here on bimmerpost). There have been a number of others since then, along with two more today (one ED & one in US). Here's a post with a few links to pics of some of them:

Are these all stock (non exec) LCIs which were delivered with the adaptive LEDs? (552)

They have sloppy sidewalls that fold during hard cornering and they just don't grip as well as Michelin's. Only bright side of them is they were better for comfort and had less road noise.
I'm also in the Chicago land area and should be taking delivery mid September if everything goes smoothly. I really hope I get the PSS. I got them for my EVO but only drove on them for a few months before I sold the car and ordered the M2 but I really liked them.

It's too soon to tell. So far we've only seen the pictures and window sticker from one '18 DCT base and pictures of one '18 manual base.

It looks like this mystery will never be solved - just got a call back from "Joey" at BMW 'Genius' in response to the email I sent a week ago - the official response from BMW as to how some US orders got standard Adaptive LEDs without the Exec Pkg is "ordering system error." That's all the info he was "allowed" to give. And so my response to BMW is:

That's the only explanation that makes any sense. The installation is too complex for it to be a production error.

Some early peeps got very lucky if this was a feature they wanted. I assume that theyve fixed the order processing system by now. Hey.. Maybe they'll ship me an M4 GTS instead of my M2 .

Yea, so it wasn't "early builds" but it was "early orders".

My car wasn't ordered until June, when the '18 Ordering Guide was released. The dealer had an open allocation, and we waited until that day to submit the order. The build was completed a couple of weeks before we expected - on 7/10, a week before the previously announced start of production date of 7/17.
