Totally Wireless iPhone X and M2
Hey all,
This may be the wrong location for this post but here we go. What should we expect with the future phones which no longer have Lightning Cable to connect to our cars? Will BMW update the 'BMW apps' to use Blue Tooth as the only connectivity method? I'd like to see this come up sooner rather than later since the iPhone X will likely be my next upgrade. Mike

The cradle sucks at charging the 8 FYI. I expect the same for the X.
It basically holds charge....but doesnt really do the job of charging. it felt like it was getting 1% per 15 mins lol I think this is actually a worthy discussion to be had. I was excited to upgrade phones and try it out but, underwhelmed. |

I am not a fan of wireless charging in a moving car in the first place. I suspect it works well on your bedside table which as I recall is not usually moving at 70 mph over bumpy roads. The lightning connector is such a huge improvement over the old 20 pin thing that it's not a big deal to just plug the thing in to a wire to charge it. If I recall the old connector had issues with lint getting in and making the fit to snug, etc. The newer connector had a little more room for lint and has no moving mechanical parts to "snap it in" like the old one did. Wireless charging is a great advance but the bug is going to be having a large enough surface to place the phone and also have some way to pin it down so there is little movement between the phone and the charge plate. I think a good way to accomplish this is a little plug in thing that you slide into the end of the phone. Oh. I see. LOL.

I have an iPhone 7 and I bought a wireless charging cover £17. Works fine with my wireless charging in the car and it fully charges no problem. If looking for a temp work around case below I used has some excellent reviews on tech sites as well and well priced
