Watch the below short YouTube video below for pretty much confirmed information regarding the death of EU Delivery.

I'm sure I won't be the last to say this... but I was planning to do ED for my next car. I couldn't this time for various reasons, but vowed to put it on the bucket list.

This news sad...

Per at least one commenter on the YT video, this is just a temporary thing and supposedly only with Porsche.

Makes me wonder if maybe they don't have enough snow tires available to rent out? :P You legally have to have snow tires on the car if you take delivery after a certain date...

That makes a lot more sense than a sudden "surprise" law that terminates the legality of ED.

Aren't there a few forum members here about to do ED pickup? I'll believe ED is dead when I hear it from them. Or some source more official than this youtube post.

Similar alarm has been raised over in the bimmerfest.com ED forum.

Pretty sure the F8x (M3/4) guys have people in the process of doing ED right now. Someone over there should be able to confirm if anything weird was done for them. The one guy in the youtube comments said he called Porsche NA and that rep said it was a temporary thing (presumably only for Porsche)...

Looks like only for Porsche. Not sure why Nick mentioned BMW in the video. Miss information.

Nick is a former M4 owner who puts out a quality product with backed up factual information. He pretty much never produces click bait vlogs so I thought it would be important to get this information out to the masses for further discussion.

European Delivery Program Cancelled?

Has anybody else heard that the ED program is on hold? One of the youtubers I follow reported on some sort of change of law in Germany so all the manufacturers are putting their programs on hold:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciFQmw7re7o

I was originally going to wait one more year to buy my M2 and if this happens to be true I'm mighty glad I ended up ordering a 2017 model.

As always any feedback is greatly appreciated!

To quote the moron south of the border, FAKE NEWS!

This is actually for Porsche only and that youtuber was completely wrong, uninformed and it led to all this BS with multiple places even picking up the news. This is the third or fourth thread on the subject.

No other European brands are affected. No one really understood Porsche's decision and the program may come back to their cars in the future.

As far as I know Porsche ED didn?t even come with a discount on the car, so not even a financial incentive there anyway. Probably another diesel gate related cost cutting measure.

Kudos on the fake news. I browsed the M2 forum quickly to see if something was posted and didn't see anything. But thanks for setting me straight. It would be sad to lose this pretty cool option.

The M2 was discount exempt, at least I didn't manage to get one, but I still did it because it was a cool way of starting my car ownership.

So your dealer charged you MSRP for ED? You got ripped off dude.

I was told Canada doesn't have a ED discount by my dealer. I was planing to do it, but scheduling didn't work out for me (and I assumed there was a ED discount)

Yeah last December when I ordered the car the M2 was not part of the discount, and a search at the time revealed that many people were in the same boat. The following site by BMW NA also supports my dealer..

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...stSavings.aspx

If you managed to get it then good on you.

That is absolute and total bullshit. ED has always commanded a discount and anyone who didn?t get it essentially paid a mark up on their car.

Don't know what you saw on there in December, but that link now shows the 5% ED discount for the 2018 M2 base price, a savings of $2675.

Regardless of what that page may have said in the past, every time I checked the PDF* of ED prices in the past two years, I always saw the M2 on there as having an ED discount. I didn't have any trouble getting it, though I am aware not all dealers have been honoring it - I simply asked the CA if they would honor the 5% ED discount for the M2 and he said "sure". If he hadn't, I'd have kept looking.

*The link titled 'here' under 'PRICING' section near the top of the ED home page on BMW USA site (it currently still shows 2017 prices there, as it always seems to be slow to update), https://www.bmwusa.com/european-delivery.html

This is irrelevant to Canada. BMW NA and BMW CAN are separate entities, so no info from the US applies.

The M2 was and still is definitely eligible for the ED discount, just ask all the folks that went on the various M Tours over the last two years. Hell, the latest one was just this past September.

sigh, it was quite a disappointment for me when I was told no ED discount. If the discount was applied, I could have moved things around the make timing work, but at MSRP, wasn't worth the work to try to get it done.

Indeed.

Finished my M2 ED trip 4 days ago - did my M2 contract for ED MSRP last month, 9/18, & just dropped her off in Munich on Friday morning.

That's annoying, at the time there were several people on here that didn't get discount with ED so I didn't push my dealer. Could have gotten my MPE for free
